I spoke to Shay Lynn Tuesday morning. She’s in town until July 9th and is at Sardo’s this evening.

Lynn, you might also recall used to co-host James Bartholet’s show on PrimeTimeUncensored.

“That was a lot of fun,” she says. “I learned a lot of new things and how to speak in front of a camera and how to interview people. But I tend to be a little camera shy. Not much but it’s still there a little.”

Because she got to attend a lot of red carpet events, Lynn says it gave her the opportunity for being noticed.

Lynn hails from Michigan and Bartholet puts her on the phone saying that she’s walking topless through the house. I had to ask Lynn a question that’s always been perplexing me.

“Are you named after the Shay Lynn temple from Kung Fu? You sound like a Kung Fu temple.”

It’s a question no one with the right presence of mind can answer. But, to note, Lynn has been absent from the LA scene for awhile and explains that she’s been dancing on the road touring the country since October.

“I have a fire act- it’s very cool,” she says. “It’s like a whole big production.”

Lynn did some modeling back in Michigan and worked her way out west.

“I did a few videos out here and met a lot of people,” she says. She mentions the Exotic Dancers National Championship in which she won five first place titles-The Exotic Dancers National Championship, and placed in Master’s category. Shay Lynn also received First Place Rising Star in the Exotica Performer of the Year Award for 2008, and the Sliver Medal for Centerfold Model in the Penthouse Gold G String Awards for 2008.

“That way I’ve perfected my shows and learned more and more,” she says. “It’s been a very interesting long trip and great.”

Asked how life is in Michigan, Lynn laughs, “Not that great. The road is much better.”

As a kid she participated in sports and was attracted to acting and modeling.

“I was doing gymnastics and dancing all my life. I’ve always been a stage baby.”

“I didn’t compete in high school, but I got really good at it and bring it into my shows,” she also notes. Lynn tells you that she was also a “fun” student and hung out with the troublemakers.

“I got into a lot of trouble but I graduated and made it.” She almost got expelled two weeks before she graduated because she insisted on wearing spaghetti straps and bare midriffs.

“I told them my mom loves it and wears the same thing.” Lynn mentions that the principal himself got into trouble which took the heat off her.
Her first sexual experience was with another girl.

“I was young- let’s put it that way- I was really young,” she laughs. “And my first time I was with a guy I was 16.

“He was my first love and I thought we’d get married,” she recalls. “I was a wait till you get married kind of girl even though I was a little crazy. I had my morals. After that I was who waits for marriage anyway?”

“But I would say I’ve probably done a million more girls than guys. But I like them equally. I like both flavors.”

While she was still living in Michigan, Lynn launched a website which she describes as gonzo-amateur.

“I got paid to enjoy myself.”

I was curious if she had ever done boy-girl scenes.

“There’s one out there,” Lynn says in a tone to suggest that there probably won’t be others.

“That was the very first video I ever did. It was with my ex-fiance. I don’t think it ever got released.”

Lynn explains that she’s working on a mainstream career and that’s probably why you won’t see her on camera doing the herky jerky. A couple of years ago, she did a film called Skidmarks, The Movie, though she wasn’t the main character.

“That was my first taste of acting and I loved it,” she laughs. “I want to focus on that and my clothing line.”

Lynn was featured in the May Penthouse and next week will be in Pennsylvania and back on tour.
