NASHVILLE – A license to drive isn’t a license to view porn. That’s the thinking of lawmakers in Tennessee who are considering a ban on mobile X-rated entertainment.

The state Senate has already passed the measure. If the House follows, Tennessee would be the first state in the nation to outlaw so-called “drive-by porn.”

The measure would impose a $50 fine for viewing porno movies in a car while in traffic. Republican Mark Norris is sponsoring the bill.

The state senator says DVDs turn cars into a “rolling projection booth” for pornography. But critics charge the bill doesn’t define what would be considered an obscene mobile movie.
