Porn Valley- The Sports Swami vowed he’d be back, and on Friday, the Swami had Lauren Legends, www.laurenlegends.com on as guest of his Body Shots & Money Shots show.

At the start of his show, Swami said not even Ashcroft or Steve Banan could get rid of him. Swami was saying something about having been suspended a couple of weeks ago. “Because of infractions- the studio doesn’t like me, the station people aren’t happy with me, whatever.”

Asked about her website, Legends, 25, says she basically runs it herself. “I take pictures. I answer all my e-mails myself. I write the text.” But Legends said someone else handles the html code. “There’s a lot of great pictures up there- all nude and all free.”

Legends, who’s from Portland, Oregon, started in the business at the age of 21.

“I started working for a lot of different companies, Hustler for awhile.” Legends said she got a lot of contract offers at the time but turned them down.

“I wanted to do what I wanted to do. I didn’t want the companies telling me that I had to do an anal scene. I wanted to be able to do what I wanted to do. I turned a lot of those contract offers down and I’m actually happy for it. It’s a journey for me. It’s a lot of fun. I get to experience things sexually and that’s what I want to do with the adult business. I don’t want to do it just for money. I enjoy what I’m doing.”

Swami noted that Jacklyn Lick as well as Friday and Kimberly Kane hail from Legends’ neck of the wood.

“Portland’s a great city,” says Legends. “We’re very liberal, very open-minded. We have clean-living, healthy people with not a whole lot of hang ups. Must be something in the rain, I don’t know.”

Asked why she got into the business, Legends said she had student loans to pay.

“I needed the money, but it was a lot of fun. I had to do a term paper for Sociology. We had to research any profession. So I chose the adult business.” Legends checked out a sex paper in Portland called Erotica.

“I looked in that magazine and there was 125 sex businesses in Portland proper alone- every little bar, every little hole in the wall drinking establishment is a strip club. There’s no zoning. There was so many adult businesses that I wanted to research. I had a blast doing it. Now I’m still doing it. I get to wear fun outfits. I get to have my hair done and my makeup done. I get to show up at amazing mansions. It can’t be all that bad.”

Noting that John Ashcroft wants to close the adult industry down, Swami asked Legends if she’s experienced any drawbacks to working in the business. “He says it’s immoral and that we’re being degraded.”

Legends has no regrets. “It’s a business just like any other business,” she says. “There are trade offs. You have to look out for your future because no one else will. If you know where you want to go with it, that’s great.”

Legends also has seen a lot of girls come and go, thinking that it would be easy money or a ticket to stardom.

“It’s neither of those. It’s a job. A fun job, definitely, but it’s a job. You have to show up on time. You do your work and you go home.”

Legends prepares for her shoots by keeping her body in shape. “You probably shoot three times what you actually see on a video because of editing,” she notes. “So it’s a lot more work than what you see. Certain positions may look great on camera, but may not feel so good in person- it is a lot of work. It’s quite an athletic thing.”

Legends also does bachelor parties and escort work. “It’s the big rave among adult film stars,” Swami pointed out. Legends was in escorting before she became a porn star, she mentions.

“I continue with that. A lot of the girls have really just incredible rates because their stars. Actually I like meeting with my fans and spending time with generous gentlemen so my rates aren’t as ridiculous as some of the other stars out there. A little more reasonable for the budget-minded.”

Legends admits that would-be boyfriends are thwarted by what she does.

“Definitely. A lot of people who have been dating me like it at first but then a couple of months into it, they’re telling me they wish I wouldn’t do that any more. Or maybe just do one aspect of my business and not the other. That’s not going to work for me. That’s my own journey and if they want to be with me then they’ll support me through all of it. I don’t want to change for them.”

Legends hasn’t had any industry romances to speak of.

“There are people I love working with but they lead a really interesting life. It’s just as tough on the guys in this industry as it is on the girls. You know what they say about two actors in one family. I don’t know if I could be in a relationship, necessarily, with another male star.”

Legends has given thought to having her own production company. “That’s how to make lots of money in this industry,” she said. “Talent doesn’t necessarily make that much money. I love adult films, but I don’t know if I’ll necessarily continue, producing, directing and starting my own company. I really enjoy more one-on-ones: interaction with my fans,” she continued, “the bachelor parties and things like that. That’s where I’m headed now. I still do movies here and there but it’s more for my personal enjoyment.”

Asked how her family deals with her situation, Legends said they had a hard time at first but that they’ve gotten over it. “They realize that this is what I want to do and that I’m safe. I’m living my life.” Legends still insists that she’s doing all of this for her fans. “I hope people come up to me 10, 20 years from now and they’re like aren’t you Lauren Legends? I remember that one film.”
