Give me a quarter for every I Dream of Genie porn movie knockoff ever made and I can bail out the industry single handed.

Las Vegas- [Las Vegas Weekly]- Well, this was a hell of a day: I found out that one of the icons of my childhood has been hopelessly violated.

Having just finished wrapping, or whatever they call it in the adult film business, is the film I’m Dreaming Genie, which is loosely (how else?) based on the famous ’60s sitcom that was centered on a naïve, subservient blonde dressed in a silk nighty catering to a dashing military man.

Maybe this film isn’t such a reach …

Whatever, at this point I would be temped to say this Barbara Eden must be rolling over in her grave at this development, but of course she is still alive. The role of “Genie” is assumed by Jessica Lynn, who more than fills the costume but who never saw the original TV show until after she was cast in the movie. The genesis for the film treatment came from director George Septo, who was a big fan of the show when he was a kid.

So was I, but I never imagined Jeannie polishing the lamp, as it were. I guess that’s what separates the masters of porn from the rest of us.
