ROME — Five years after first beaming into Italian homes, Rupert Murdoch’s Sky Italia satcaster is starting to shake up the country’s TV landscape with its first batch of skeins centered around heroin-dealing gangsters, satanic sects and porn stars….Sky Italia has just completed production on a two-part mini centered around Italy’s proliferating satanic sects phenom, which recently prompted Pope Benedict XVI to call for exorcism to be revived.
Working-titled “L’ombra di Satana” (Satan’s Shadow), the skein helmed by Alex Infascelli (“Almost Blue”) is set in Italy’s northern provinces where black magic is rampant. It will air on Sky Italia in May.
Also in the pipeline is a two-part bio of popular late Italo porn star Moana Pozzi, who founded Italy’s Love Party in 1992 with her more internationally known colleague Anna Elena Staller, aka Cicciolina, who went on to be elected to parliament.
