Tired of the daily grind of soaps and sitcoms, Former Miss USA 1991 Kelli McCarty took a more “hands-on” approach to acting — and she really got the “job” done.
After this Kansas native won the crown in ’91, she began pursuing a career in acting, and finally scored the role of ‘Beth’ on the soap opera ‘Passions’ in ’99. However, her character was killed in a freak train explosion, thus ending McCarty’s soap career prematurely in 2006. But don’t worry, McCarty’s found a more satisfying role — boom or bust!
According to TMZ.com, McCarty just finished wrapping her new passion, XXX feature film, ‘Faithless.’ Looks like the former beauty queen became so, er, passionate about her new gig that she wants to pursue a career in “adult entertainment” full time.
Her reasoning behind the career switch?
“I enjoy acting,and I really like sex . . . so this was the perfect opportunity to combine two of my passions,” she explained.
Sure. Who wouldn’t want to combine their two passions and make a whole-lotta dough in the process?

But McCarty’s not the only beauty queen to tarnish her immaculate tiara. The beauty pageant scene has bred quite a few beautiful bad girls.
Former Miss Nevada USA Katie Rees lost her title after some scandalous photos turned up of her kissing another woman, exposing her breasts and exhibiting other less than ladylike behavior, on the internet in December 2006.
But the trouble didn’t end there for wild child Rees. She was arrested in Febuary 2008 and charged with assualting a police officer after a traffic stop in Las Vegas.
Another ugly case involved 25-year-old Arizona beauty queen Kumari Fulbright. Pageant darling and law school student Fulbright competed for the Miss Arizona title in 2005 and 2006. In Decemeber of 2007 she was arrested for allegedly holding her ex-boyfriend captive for 10 hours while robbing and torturing.
And, of course, who can forget ‘Ugly Betty’ star and former Miss America Vanessa Williams? After some racy photos made it to the pages of Penthouse Magazine, Williams refused to be embarrassed any further and resigned her crown in 1984.
Her road to stardom didn’t seem to suffer. She went on to have a succesful career in music and television.
