Porn Valley- Mr. Marcus is organizing a talent meeting to be held 8pm tonight in Northridge. I hear a similar industry meeting is being scheduled by Suze Randall for Wednesday night at Metro. Meanwhile, Steve Banan is holding a meeting for industry journalists, Thursday afternoon in Burbank. There’s also been talk about a press conference being scheduled by AIM for Tuesday.
I talked to Steve Banan. Banan has been critical of AIM’s Sharon Mitchell and has made statements to the effect that Mitchell should step down from AIM. “We’re going to discuss how we combat this,” said Banan stating the purpose of the meeting. “There’s also been a rampant forging of tests. That’s another concern. They can’t afford it the tests.” Banan said he’s also very concerned over the possibilities that the State might appoint a health czar to watch dog the industry.
I also talked to Bill Margold. Where there’s a cause or a crisis Margold has always been there. And he intends on being at tonight’s talent meeting.
“This is the first of the panic meetings that are going to take place,” Margold predicts. “We are in a state of panic. The industry is frightened. It’s terrified right now.” Margold said he’s reached the disgust level and has no clue what Sharon Mitchell’s going to end up doing. Margold, as other websites have speculated, is holding to the conspiracy theory that Mitchell knew of the James situation several days before it was reported to the press on April 12th.
“Jim South did not know until Tuesday morning,” Margold states. “You would think of all the people that should know, South should know first.” Describing the James disappearance to Bunny Lake and Jimmy Hoffa, Margold suspects that James is staying with TT Boy.
“TT’s watching over him; that’s what I would tend to believe,” says Margold. “That’s what I would like to believe.” I asked Margold how do you explain James’ wallet which was reported left behind, Margold believes that, in haste, James left it behind.
“TT’s going to feed him,” Margold suggests. “If you’ve ever been to TT’s house, the man has rooms that I haven’t even seen yet where he could put him. And what does he need his wallet for? Maybe this is his own way of lashing back.”
On the subject of Darren James, Margold continues to uphold James as one of the nicest men in the history of the business.
“Every time I’ve said this in recent interviews I’ve always thought back to Frank Sinatra saying that about Laurence Harvey in The Manchurian Candidate. And it terrifies me putting the analogy together.”
Margold said he’s already taken steps to form an organization of industry journalists which he’s calling AMERAN, Adult Media Entertainment Rights Association Network. “It’s a sort of honorary journalism society that watches over what it puts out over the net,” Margold explains. “It’ll never happen, but it’s a nice thought.”
Margold said he’s formed this organization in reponse to what happened to Dynasty over the weekend with AVN lending the impression that she had tested positive.
“Let’s say that Dynasty woke up on Sunday morning and noticed that she was now positive and blew her brains out,” Margold says. “Who’s to blame? Because AVN couldn’t wait to put the story up? Did you read the story that Dynasty’s came up in? I couldn’t figure out what that story was saying.”
