In his book Ron Jeremy: The Hardest Working Man in Showbiz which came out in 2007, the Hedgehog talks about the infamous after hours sex movie that was shot at Howard Stern’s studio in New York.
In the story, Jeremy explains that it all got started with a phone call he received from Brett, Crazy Cabbie’s partner. Jeremy was told that Cabbie wanted to star in a porno movie and that Stern had approved the idea, was aware of where it was going to be shot and would promote it on his radio show. A far cry from what was the eventual truth.
Jeremy, however, says he was thrilled to be included in the project- not only to direct but act in the film. So he rounded up a cast to include himself, Taylor Wane, Tabitha Stevens, Christi Lake “and some new actress out of New Jersey.”
According to Jeremy he was given a budget that barely covered expenses.
“None of us would be paid a normal salary until the movie was sold to a distributor,” he explains. “But given Howard’s reputation it seemed like a foregone conclusion.”
Jeremy goes on to describe the cast arriving at Stern’s studio in New York on a cold winter night. A nervous staffer [who is never identified] seemed very jumpy and Jeremy thought that was pretty odd.
“We went straight into the recording studio and set up cameras,” Jeremy continues. The orders were to shoot and be out of the studio long before Stern would begin his program in the morning. Another consideration in the shoot was the fact of Stern’s a germaphobia, so certain things couldn’t be touched.
“But I did grab the O.J. Simpson mask off the wall while Taylor [Wane] gave me head,” relates Jeremy. As Jeremy yelled out that he was ready to cum, Wane got out of the way and Jeremy made like she was going to shoot a load on Stern’s chair.
“Just kidding,” he said. For the next scene, Jeremy put on a Gene Simmons mask to have sex with Tabitha Stevens on a couch in the green room.
“He [Simmons] gave me written permission to use his mask in the movie,” Jeremy relates, noting how he was only in the studio for those two scenes.
The rest of the movie was completed in a Manhattan studio made up to look like the hallway outside of Stern’s studio. There they shot an orgy scene where Jeremy and Cabbie teamed up with Wane and Christi Lake. Because Cabbie had trouble functioning with so many people watching, the scene was reshot at a hotel room downtown.
“After he [Cabbie] climaxed, he pointed at his erection, pounded a fist in the air and screamed, ‘Hey, Howard, this is for the fans! Look at this! All right!!'”
According to Jeremy some additional scenes were shot including the rock band Alien Ant Farm. Either someone from the band or the band’s manager apparently wore a mask and had sex with a groupie. After the shoot was completed, Jeremy took the footage back to LA and gave it to his editor.
The finished movie clocked in over two hours with seven or eight sex scenes.
Later, during another Stern broadcast, Jeremy heard Stern chew out Elephant Boy for having sex in the green room. Jeremy thought that didn’t sound right especially with them shooting a porno there.
That’s when Jeremy called Brett but was again told everything was alright, that Stern knew what happened and didn’t have a problem with it. Jeremy then sent Brett the edited film and the masters. A month later Brett called him back in a panic telling him they had to re-edit the movie.
It was explained to Jeremy that Cabbie had gotten a full time gig as a deejay and while he didn’t mind being in a porno, he couldn’t be shown participating in sex scenes at the studio. Jeremy wanted to know what the big deal was.
“He just doesn’t want it to appear like he’s sneaking into a radio station and letting porno actors have sex on the company’s property,” he was told.
The use of the word sneaking disturbed Jeremy because now it was becoming clear that there had been a scam perpetrated.
The movie was then re-cut to two films: Scenes from a Shock Jock Studio and The Crazy Cabbie Movie.
Months later Jeremy got word that the Stern people weren’t happy. They found out about the movie. When asked if Stern’s microphone ever came into play, sexually, particularly with his penis, Jeremy told them it had not.
“Cabbie was rattled enough to pull the plug completely,” writes Jeremy. “He stopped returning my calls, and Brett informed me that the movie was being shelved indefinitely.”
Jeremy says he wanted to strangle somebody for all the work, travel and time he put into the project for no pay.
“Brett still owed money to my editor for the extra edits,” Jeremy adds.
“And he should have at least thrown a few grand to my actors for their trouble.”
Although Brett had possession of the masters and the model releases, Jeremy had a few VHS dubs.
“And I was prepared to use them,” Jeremy says.
“I couldn’t legally distribute it to video stores, but I could release it for free on the Internet.”
When Brett came up with the money to pay his editor, Jeremy let the matter drop. But he still has dubs of the footage.
Jeremy also makes a point in the story to say that while he never ratted Cabbie out, Brett, the partner, did try to sell the movie to Jill Kelly Productions, but the deal never materialized. Probably for more than obvious reasons.
Howard Stern also addressed the issue on one of his shows at the time Jeremy’s book came out..
From the Gene files: Howard turned to the matter at hand, which was Ronâs allegation in his book that he, Taylor Wane, Tabitha Stevens and Crazy Cabbie shot a porno in his old KROCK studio. After getting Cabbie on the line too, Howard said he thought Cabbie was the one who got Ron and Tabitha into the studio, but Ron insisted Cabbie wasnât in the studio while they shot the movie. Cabbie then claimed he once asked Howard if could film the porno in his studio, and that he had said yes, but Howard told him that statement âinsulted his intelligence.â
Ron reported he and a man named Brett had sex with Taylor in Howardâs chair, but that they didnât âfinish.â When Howard pointed out his studio was always locked, Ron responded that the fact someone had a key to get him in led him to believe Howard was behind the project. Howard then asked Cabbie to describe his involvement in the porno, and he said he was âthe Steven Spielberg of the movieâ because he produced it.
Gary came in and stated someone who worked there had to let Ron and company into the studio to film the porno, and, since Cabbie was the only employee from Infinity who worked on the movie, he thought Cabbie was responsible for it, but Cabbie insisted that wasnât the case. As Cabbie again compared himself to Steven Spielberg, Gary pointed out the two werenât the same because Spielberg always got the appropriate permits prior to shooting his movies, which was why he believed Cabbie snuck people into Howardâs studio behind his back.
Cabbie went on to apologize for his actions, and claimed he âshelvedâ the porno and didnât release it simply because he didnât want to, while Artie thought it might have been shelved because of bad lighting.
Artie noted he thought Cabbie was âdigging the hole deeperâ and advised him to fess up to his true involvement in the porno, but Cabbie wouldnât reveal anymore details. When Howard asked Ron if he wouldâve been in the film if heâd known he hadnât approved it, Ron responded, âNo, not a prayer.â
Cabbie then complained that he didnât think Ron needed to put this story in his book, but Artie pointed out it wasnât Ronâs fault given his innocence in what happened. Cabbie proceeded to apologize again, and referred to himself as âyoung, dumb and stupidâ when the movie was shot.
As Cabbie continued to insist that Howard gave his permission to shoot the porno, Artie yelled the excuse was making Cabbie sound like âa retard.â Howard then asked why, if he did approve the porno as Cabbie claimed, he wasnât told about its filming, but Cabbie didnât have an answer. Cabbie added âthere were some things you donât tell,â and wouldnât reveal whose idea it was to shoot the movie in Howardâs studio.
Howard took calls from listeners, who all noted how ungrateful Cabbie was to Howard, despite all the support heâs given him throughout his career. Irish John, who noted he was good friends with Tabitha, then called in and reported Tabitha refused to do her scene in the studio because she didnât think Howard would approve of it, and added that she accused Cabbie of putting the whole thing together.
Ralph next got on the line to say he wasnât surprised by Cabbieâs behavior, especially given his âCrazyâ moniker, but Artie replied that wasnât a good argument, and Fred said even people who werenât smart wouldâve known not to shoot the porno in Howardâs studio.
Howard also took a call from Angry Black, who claimed Brett once showed him the porno, and thought he had seen Cabbie having sex in Howardâs studio in it, but both Ron and Cabbie insisted that didnât happen. Cabbie proceeded to say he didnât want to talk about the movie anymore and asked Howard if he could talk to him off the air about it, but Howard said he wasnât interested in doing that.
Howard acknowledged he had âa weird personality,â and that, because he now felt betrayed by Cabbie, heâd never be able to look at him the same way again. Howard then wondered if anyone else he knew was involved with the porno, but Cabbie refused to answer. Because of Cabbieâs reply, Artie guessed there were, in fact, other people Howard knew in on it, which led Howard to thank Cabbie for allowing him to trust even more people who didnât deserve to be trusted.
