Nicole London Addresses Some Issues

Porn Valley- Nicole London writes: Yesterday I was saddened to find out that another actress (Jessica Dee) had tested HIV positive. Jessica is a very sweet girl, and we at Outback would like to wish her well and if she needs anything please feel free to contact me.

I would like to address some of the issues that I have been reading about all over the internet and in the news papers. In the past 15 years I have seen changes within the industry, some good and some not. The most obvious has been the testing, which gets me to my main issue that I’d like to address, now mind you that these are of my own opinion and if you don’t like what I am about to say, well don’t, you have that right.

As far as the testing goes it was a great move for the industry, first the Elisa, and for a while the Western Blot, or both I should say, Then the PCR. A lot of the talent were not around when we where getting the test every three months, now it is every month along with the STD testing, Which makes it that much safer. I have been hearing that the test should go to every two weeks, that is all well and good but from what I have been reading the PCR test will show a 99% accurate result 28 days after exposure. Talent need to make that decision for themselves, do your studying and make your own decision, be responsible and never rely on someone’s word for any test result. Look at the test. I do not know how many times I have had talent come up to me on set and say do you have so and so test, don’t take my word for it, be responsible for yourself.

The choice of work that you decide to take is yours, it is your body and your mind, not mine. If you are booked for a b/g scene and you show up and it’s turned into an anal you do not have to do the scene, leave if you have to, is it really worth the $1300.00?

Do not let an agent talk to the producer about what you will be doing and for how much, you need to talk to them yourselves this way there is no miscommunication. I wish I could tell you how many times agents say oh ya she’ll do that, I want to talk to the talent directly, If you are not responsible for your bookings and you are leaving it up to the agents and producers maybe you are not responsible enough to be in the adult business.

I tend to be more understanding about talent issues then most, for most of them never were talent. But I am only one person, yes there are a few others, but people please do not let anyone make your decisions for you.

As far as the condom issue is concerned my company has been for the past year and ½ condom optional but I can tell you this 7 out of 10 do not choose to use them, then I hear complaints from people who say well we can’t wear condoms for some companies, well don’t work for them. Since the HIV outbreak (as the media is calling it) we at Outback are now and forever condom only, if you do not want to wear them then work for someone else. But just because I am condom only that does not mean that I will not hire talent that is optional, it just means that on my sets you have to use them.

Talent also please keep a complete calendar for what company you worked for, what the scene consisted of, whom you worked with (stage and real name) how much you were paid, and also working title. The industry has grown and will continue to do so. It use to be that everyone knew everybody and the industry was more like a family, and we watched out for each other, you need to keep track as to what is going on in your own life and realize that this is a sex industry so protect yourselves.

Please also if you find out that you are positive for an STD do not work, taking your medication does not mean that you are negative, you are not negative until you get a negative result, I would rather you call and cancel then show up on set. If you took responsibility and canceled, I will hire you on the next shoot. If you don’t, even if I like you as a person I will never hire you again. With saying that if you happen to be working with someone who has an sore or some kind of funky rash don’t do the scene and request that they replace that person.

There are a lot of responsible talent out there and I praise you for that, the ones who do not take responsibility for their own actions need to start or please find another career. This is not a job that you can not take seriously.

Please also if you are going to be talking to the media please keep in mind that you are representing the industry as a whole, some of you should not be and yes this also includes producers. This in no way is directed toward any individual I would just hope that no one will forget in four months and that you just protect yourselves. We all have our views and opinions, but they do not represent everyone.

Sincerely

Nicole London
