Gauge: Metro’s Really Disorganized-update

Porn Valley- If there’s still love lost between Gauge and Metro you weren’t going to find it on the Sports Swami show today. Gauge was an in-studio guest.

Swami wanted to know what happened. Gauge said Metro quit paying her last month. “That’s pretty much what’s going on.” Gauge said she had been under contract while Metro had gotten rid of the head of production [Joey Wilson].

“Production was going slow anyway,” she said. “I’d been begging for my series and I was supposed to be doing it right now. But nobody would ever do meetings with me, or do an update photo shoot for that matter. Then they quit paying me out of the blue. I thought everything was fine and we had resolved things. And then they pretty much went back to their old ways.”

Swami described it as akin to a marriage gone awry, that Guage had seemed pretty happy at the AEE.

“Then they sent Mexicans after you calling you an alcoholic and a lush- a pain in the ass, a diva. Everything except a Republican.”

Gauge said she was from Bill Clinton country so if they did that, everyone would have known that was bogus along with everything else.

“I’m not an alcoholic,” Gauge stated. “Shit I work too much to squeeze in a drink even if I wanted one. At the AVN Expo I was really happy. We had resolved things. I was happy to be there with them and everything was going real good with them until about a month ago whenever they decided to switch the rules in the middle of the game without telling me.

Gauge said she was working at KSEX and dancing.

Swami pumped a stupid rumor that Gauge was going to dump her boyfriend Jason for Quasarman and wanted to know the status of Gauge’s on-air relationship with Quasarman, whether they actually hated one another.

“We stand each other, we’re friends,” she said. “We bust each others balls all the time.” Swami then whipped out another rumor- supposedly from Metro- that Gauge was jealous of Ann Marie because she has a directing gig, gets along with people and Gauge doesn’t want to communicate.

“That’s a one-sided thing from Metro,” Gauge replied. “Everybody else that I’ve worked for knows I communicate with others, and I’m really good on sets. There’s endless amount of people who know me on sets. They know I communicate well an I have a very good directing point of view on things.”

Gauge also refuted the notion that she’s jealous of Ann Marie.

“More power to her,” she said. “It’s just that I was supposed to have my own series. I didn’t want a budget. I didn’t want to run camera. I just wanted to show up, do my scenes and have my own Gauge series that has my own artistic creativity in it. I was going to have a ten volume series when we re-negotiated in December. But nothing ever came about it. I’m pushing them- where’s my series? What the hell are we going to do? The next thing I know you see all these press releases- Ann Marie is directing the Babes Illustrated 14 now.

“I’m like, okay, what about my series? I don’t even want director pay or director credit. It’s just like I’ve been doing my whole career. Every time I show up on a set, I always change the positions, change the outfits, change where we’re actually going to do the scene. It always comes out rockets. Like Jules Jordan’s movies. We’ve always worked together.”

Gauge insists that she’s my than willing to communicate. “If somebody is set in their ways and this is exactly what they want -which is more like on the Playboy side, hey, man, I’m not complaining.”

Gauge said she didn’t understand all the fuss being made over Ann Marie. “Maybe they play favorites.” And Gauge didn’t rule out the fact that Ann Marie might be playing the “Miss Kiss Ass Role.”

“If she’s playing this as Miss Kiss Ass, that’s one thing. That’s not me and there’s no way I’m going to be jealous over somebody that’s kiss ass. Not saying that she is. But what I’m saying is that maybe she’s not going through the problems that I’ve been having. A lot of girls will sit around and get jacked over by these companies and just go along with it. Maybe she didn’t even want to direct it and they’re making her. Who knows what the story is?”

Gauge said she’s just a little upset because it was in her contract that she’d have her series and all the promises went to seed.

Gauge said hers has not been for the lack of trying. “They won’t give me the opportunity.” Gauge said it’s been noted that she’s negative whenever she shows up at Metro- and only then to get her checks.

“I’d like to clear one thing up,” she said. “I never come up there to get my checks unless they forgot to send them out. My checks get mailed to me. I’m not there every time my check is ready. Every time I come up there a lot of people have seen attitude towards me because I come up there expecting a meeting about my series and then nobody’s around. Even the publicist is, hey, man, we need an updated photo shoot of Gauge. What’s the problem. This is Metro: yeah, yeah, yeah. We’re going to do it. It’s going to be great, blah-blah-blah. They tell you, yeah, to get you off their ass at the moment.

“If I’m a bitch for making them want to work and work me, I don’t want just to be some little Metro contract girl in some gonzo scene where I’m not even on a boxcover. What’s that? I should have my own series. If I don’t have my own series then I should be starring in the roles. There’s a lot of directors and you have multiple movies going on at the same time. I could play a star in one. Ann Marie could star in another. Just like Wicked and Vivid does. Hello? Can’t you follow the beat? They’re so unorganized but I actually sit back and laugh at this. Their feelings are really going to be hurt but I’m going to come out with my own series by the end of this year.”

Gauge predicts that Metro is going to wish that they used her the way she wanted to be used. “I am being used in a bad way- you contract me, cut me off from my checks and I can’t go work for anyone else.”

Asked what company she might see herself with, Gauge said she couldn’t say for sure. “I’d have to see which one is more beneficial to me,” she responded. “I’d never sign a contract like the one Metro had given me. But pretty much a company who’d want to work with me and make money, appreciate me as much as I appreciate them.”

Asked about JM Productions, Gauge said they were a little too hard for her right now in her career. If approached by Platinum X, Gauge said she’d have to look over the contract and see what they were offering.”

When Swami mentioned Las Vegas Novelties, Gauge flinched. “Yeah, that’s real great.” Swami suspected he had touched a nerve. Gauge ascribed it to a nerve in her tooth that started acting up. As it Gauge, said she would have to look at a new contract with a fine-toothed comb.

“There’s a lot of hidden things in contracts that I know about now. But it wouldn’t matter to me if the company was female or male-owned. My niche is to treat people how I want to be treated and I don’t expect anything less than that.”

Swami, who takes every available opportunity to bring Halston Productions into a discussion on the business, asked Gauge for her opinion on them. Gauge didn’t have an answer.

He then addressed issues of Gauge’s love life. “He [Jason] has been there for me and has been with me throughout the career. Obviously it’s hard for a normal guy to have a porn star girlfriend but he’s taking it really well.” Gauge said Jason wasn’t into porn when she met him. “He was an average guy and to know that he had fallen in love with this girl that has sex with other people- it’s a man-thing. You don’t want anyone else touching your woman.”
