Tampa- from www.tampabay.com- Joe Redner, proprietor of Tampa’s famous Mons Venus strip club, is selling his South Tampa fitness club, Xtreme Total Health and Fitness.

Redner said Friday that he was losing money on the gym: “I’m not a gym operator, so in these economic times, I just had to cut my losses.” Redner owned the gym for more than 12 years.

He owns several other businesses and properties, including Cigar City Brewing on W. Spruce Street in Tampa, a production lighting company called Production Services and Systems, and a building on Boy Scout Boulevard that houses the Internal Revenue Service. Redner also made several unsuccessful bids for public office.

Redner said he is selling the fitness club to Joe Pacifico, president of Choice Fitness Clubs, which has locations in Clearwater and New Port Richey. Xtreme will change its name to Choice Fitness once the sale is complete, Redner said.
