From www.nbcbayarea.com- A 28-year-old man used MySpace, Craigslist and other Internet services to recruit teenage girls into what was supposed to be a glamorous life of luxury, sheriff’s deputies said. That not so “glamorous” life turned out to be a life of prostitution.

Charles Tyrone Young was arrested and charged with sex trafficking of minors by San Diego County sheriff’s deputies working with Los Angeles police.

Young used MySpace to entice a juvenile girl from Florida to his house in Las Vegas, where FBI agents said the girl “thought she was going to be a star,” Sgt. Dave Schaller said. Instead, according to an affidavit from the federal agent, the girl met other teenaged girls already working as prostitutes.

The girl, a runaway, was offered drugs and put to work in seedy hotels.

Young advertised the girls on Craigslist and ran his prostitution ring out of motels in Las Vegas, Pomona, Montclair, Anaheim and northern San Diego County. At one point, they walked the sidewalks in El Cajon, deputies said.

The case unraveled when a San Diego County sheriff’s deputy working the vice squad made a deal on Craigslist for sexual services at a motel in San Marcos. Another deputy saw a Chevrolet Tahoe with large chrome rims and a driver identified as Young loitering outside.
