Denver- from www.denverpost.com- Prosecutors today in Denver District Court told a jury that a former gay-porn actor killed a Denver businessman during a robbery that went bad.

Chief Deputy District Attorneys Bonnie Benedetti and Diane Balkin told the jury that Timothy Boham,[pictured] 28, attempted to rob his former boss, J.P. Kelso, in Kelso’s home in the 3600 block of East Seventh Avenue in November 2006. But Kelso refused to open his safe, a struggle ensued, and Boham shot Kelso in the head, they said.

Police arrested Boham three days later in Arizona. He admitted going back to the house several times to clean up fingerprints and evidence. He also cut open Kelso’s safe and found that it was empty, police said.

Kelso, an art collector and philanthropist, owned Professional Recovery Systems, a collection agency in Denver.

Boham, who acted in several gay-porn films, is charged with first-degree murder, felony murder and aggravated robbery. He remains in custody.

Defense attorneys Amber St. Clair and Kristan Wheeler told the jury that Kelso had committed suicide because he was despondent over the breakup of two relationships.

The trial continues this week.
