Louisiana- from www.tigerweekly.com- If you were to search the name Stormy Daniels on the Internet, your results would produce a large amount of adult themed Web sites bearing the actress and her namesake; thus, bringing you to the final conclusion that Stormy Daniels is a porn star.
In more recent times, the name Stormy Daniels has produced more results on the Internet with her name in political news rather than adult entertainment.
Several months ago, Daniels made headlines when she said that she would like to run against Republican Senator David Vitter in the 2010 senatorial elections, but it seemed vague at that point to conclude if she were to run against Vitter. However, on May 21, Daniels said she had formed an exploratory committee to “gauge Louisianans’ support for my potential candidacy.”
Besides the announcement of an exploratory committee, Daniels also announced that she would be continuing her listening tour of Louisiana. Prior to the formation of the exploratory committee, Daniels toured through parts of Louisiana and listened to different concerns and issues from residents of those parts. According to Daniels, these conversations and issues are what brought her closer to announcing a position in the election.
But what exactly are the issues for Daniels’ platform? Team Stormy representative Brian Welsh outlined the issues important to Daniels right now.
“Obviously, both from watching the news and from her conversations with the voters from the first part of her listening tour, the economy is the number one concern among Louisianans. Stormy has several ideas that would address the faltering economy, including the repeal of the income tax and instituting The Fair Tax,” said Welsh.
Welsh continued, “Should she decide to run, reforming the tax code will be a central part of her message, as well as increasing protections for children online. Child predators and age inappropriate content stalk our children online every day; it is vital that we protect them.”
If Daniels were to announce her place in the 2010 Senate elections, she would be running against incumbent Senator David Vitter, whose past has not been favorable with some Louisiana residents. As much of the country still remembers through the national news headlines, Senator Vitter confessed to using a prostitution service while residing in Washington, D.C.
More recently, Vitter made national headlines again for holding up the nomination of the new FEMA director. Vitter did so to make sure his requests to rebuild Louisiana areas still affected by Katrina and Rita would be fulfilled by the new director. Democrats and papers all over the country blasted Vitter’s hold, and even several Republican senators urged Vitter to remove the hold. Vitter finally did remove the hold; however, many people are still outraged by his move and the internal problems it caused in the Senate.
A representative from Senator Vitter’s team was not available to comment.
Stormy Daniels has not decided yet if she will run, but she is still touring and listening around the state. If you would like to know more about Stormy Daniels or contribute to her mission, visit Daniels’ new Web site at teamstormy.com.
