Darrah Ford: “True Coward” Robbie D’s an Arrogant Prick

Darrah Ford writes on www.scottfayner.com : CNBC aired their new documentary “Porn: Business of Pleasure”. It was a fluff piece describing how great the porn industry is. Which means most of the hour long program was all a lie.

First they paraded a few of the industry’s female executives and they read their script how they have power in an industry run by men. The lies continued on how more and more women are achieving this and how great the world is filled with butterflies and rainbows.

These women failed to mention that their bosses are men and the women don’t really have that much power. It’s only an illusion. Unless they are the female Larry Flynt, the female Steve Hirsch, or the female Steve Orenstein where they make the rules and sign the paychecks, then you have no real power and can be fired and lose everything like everyone else.

What truly enraged me is when Digital Playground director Robby D appeared on the show with his face blurred out. How dare you have your face blurred out on a porn documentary?! What business did you have being on that show if only to hide your face?? The female executives didn’t hide and even Jesse Jane said her real name. But a lower-class version of a pimp wants his privacy when he makes his living off the backs of the performers in his movies??

And how dare you brag about sending your three-year-old daughter to private school!! Most porn stars can’t afford to send their children to private school, can’t afford to buy a new home, can’t afford to buy life insurance, and can’t even afford to pay their rent. But this arrogant prick goes on a national cable news channel to talk about how great porn is but won’t show his face.

If Robby is so proud of his job, then why hide when everyone else wasn’t? Many change their names or shun all cameras if working behind the scenes in porn which is understandable. But he goes on the show knowing everyone else will be showing the world who they are. But there he was hiding like the scared little boy that he is fearing the neighbors will know what he does for a living.

But what’s puzzling is that Robby has appeared in non-sexual roles in his movies throughout the years and has pictures of himself posted online. But I think he feels it’s okay to expose himself to the porn world because his neighbors and family will never find out. But go on a national cable news channel, he hides and is scared.

I was hoping the show wouldn’t portray the women as being dumb and stupid. Jesse Jane, Joanna Angel, and the other women did very well and the show didn’t make them look like fools like how several talk shows do. But seeing Jesse Jane saying her real name and the other women all talking about their careers while Robby had his face blurred out just truly sickened me.

Most female porn stars are harassed because of their jobs, their children are harassed at school, their families disown them, and many women have lost custody of their children all because they are in the porn industry. Robby has his daughter in private school and lives better than 99% of the performers in the business. He doesn’t put his health, safety, privacy, and sanity on the line. But there he was hiding his face showing what a true coward he is.

There was no reason for him to be on the documentary. Jesse Jane was there representing Digital Playground and did very well. So what was the point? To rub it in everyone’s face that he is better off financially than most in the industry? Most never reveal their real identities and of course that’s understandable. But if you’re going to be on a documentary representing your industry, then show yourself like everyone else did on that show.
