If he is in fact a real person, I’d even go as far as to say Erv is probably a darn good guy.
But I can’t help him out too much on this one.
We received a press release on Tuesday seeking publicity in the newspaper about a special guest appearance by Jesse Jane, a porn star who I swear to God I’ve never heard of. But she must be a big deal because her name even has a copyright tag after it.
Press releases fill our newsroom inboxes and eat up paper in our fax machine everyday, but in almost a decade with The Express-Times, I’ve never come across one promoting a porn star’s appearance at a local establishment.
We try to read all of them no matter what the headline.
Some grab our attention: Councilman’s denounces PETA after hand severed by pet lion that escaped inside city hall.
Some make us laugh: Rural farmer invents breakthrough toilet paper culled from hay, WD-40 and Elmer’s Glue.
Some make us question society: Community activist chastises journalist who publicly acknowledged patronizing gentlemen’s club.
I’d say the Jesse Jane news release falls into the “made us laugh” category.
Anyway, if you want to know more about her, you’re probably better off going to a site that allows nudity.
What I can tell you based on the press release is that she was the 2007 Adult Movie Feature Entertainer of the Year. Her upcoming movie is “Teachers” (I wonder what she’s teaching). She also starred in “Pirates II: Stagnetti’s Revenge” (I wonder what was done to Stagnetti that would cause him to seek revenge).
Her appearances at Erv’s are tonight, Friday night and Saturday night.
According to the press release, Jesse Jane is excited about the appearances.
“I love the people of Allentown,” she said. “They all work so hard during the day. It’s fun to let them kick back and watch me work it up on the stage.”
Erv, my man, that’s the best I can do regarding publicity.
