It’s days like yesterday that make grown men cry. Did you expect Pittsburgh to shank a couple of field goals thus coughing up a game to Chicago? Did you really care to see Chad Ochocinco [pictured] doing the Lambeau Leap in a truly unanticipated Cincinnati Bengals win over Green Bay? Could anyone imagine Tennessee losing to Houston? And how about them Cowboys? Those were only some of the upset applecarts in the first train wreck of the young NFL season.
However, in the instances outside of a total train wreck there’s usually an AdultFYI football pool member to think out of the box, and we had a couple of ‘em in Steve Volponi who went 12-3 and John Gray who came in second with an 11-4 record which helped him move up to a tie with Scott David for first place. at Chicago 17, Pittsburgh 14: And just like that, the fans in Chicago love Jay Cutler again. Until the next time he loses.
at Denver 27, Cleveland 6: Broncos have given up only one TD in two games. Raiders might end up with minus-seven points next week.
Baltimore 31, at San Diego 26: Rivers is looking a lot like Dan Fouts, throwing for a lot of yards, but always coming up a little bit short.
N.Y. Giants 33, at Dallas 31: It was awkward when Kanye West walked on field to say to Romo, “No disrespect, but Troy Aikman was great.”
