Reseda, CA- Girlfriends Films hard work at further improving its line over the past year has paid off with the lesbian-content video producer leading that niche with twelve 2010 AVN Award nominations.
“Field of Schemes 5” and “Lesbian Bridal Stories 4” are nominated for “Best All-Girl Release.” Girlfriends also has multiple nominations for “Best All-Girl Series”: Mother-Daughter Exchange Club”, “Road Queen”, and Women Seeking Women,” which has won the award for the past two years.
“I am most proud to be nominated for “Best Overall Marketing Campaign – Company Image,” said company president Dan O’Connell.
“This puts us in a rarified and very selective atmosphere with the biggest and most established companies in the business. We are the only niche company among the nominees. We’ve worked hard to become one of the best and biggest, and win or lose the award, it’s very gratifying to receive the recognition of just being nominated.”
O’Connell hopes to be back in the thick of things at next year’s awards.
“We’ve really been kicking up our movie quality and we have several projects which promise to be our best yet. Currently, we are working on a new series that’s set in the year 1955 and focuses on lesbian pin-up models.
“We’ve put a lot of care into getting everything period correct and genuine, including lots of lingerie from the era. Fans won’t see any breast implants or tattoos. There’s been a lot of requests on our fan forum for something like this, and it’s taken over a year to collect all the period-correct props and costumes. It’s great to be able to finally reward their patience. This is our most ambitious project to date, and we’re really excited about it.”
In addition to the nominations for Girlfriends Films’ productions, two of the company’s three contract girls scored acting nominations: India Summer is nominated for “Best Actress,” and both India and RayVeness are nominated for “MILF/Cougar Performer of the Year.”
