from www.tomshardware.com – Thanks to the Pirate Bay trials, one of the founders of the BitTorrent site Peter Sunde is rather well known in many internet circles. Sunde was a guest at a conference at South by South West Interactive, but he wasn’t present in person as he feared the army lawyers that would be on his trail if he were to set foot on U.S. soil. Instead, he appeared via a Skype video call.
TechRadar recorded some of the best quotes offered by Sunde at the SXSW conference session. Here are some of our favorites:
On why he’s not currently in jail:
“This is Sweden not the US – you are not going get pound-in-the-ass prison sentences here. You’re not going to jail until all the appeals have been dealt with. We always thought that we might lose in the first round but in the second round we are going to win.
“We are not going to end up in jail – if we did, in Sweden one year equals nine months in jail and you get education and food for free. There’s no free Wi-Fi. But I’m not going to jail.”

Google is too good to be true – they went into China not to help the Chinese people but to make money and gain a big chunk of the search engine market in China. I hate that people that have that have so much influence on the internet don’t actually care about the internet.”
On Google Founder Sergey Brinn:
“I would tell him he needs to change. I would make him somehow. I can be very persuasive – I don’t mean that in a bad way, I can be very funny and make him like me, and want to marry me and then I will write it in a pre-nup and then divorce him.”
