Honey Becomes Kody Coxx

Porn Valley- The Sports Swami had Kody Coxx, the former Honey, on his show this past Friday. Coxx was asked about her story and how she got into the business. Coxx admitted it wasn’t a good story at the time.

“I needed the money at the time, but I’m glad it all happened,” she explained. “I love L.A., and it’s a really cool industry.” Swami wondered whether Coxx was a troubled youth or was seduced by a director. Au contraire, said Coxx who made it sound like she grew up on Beaver Cleaver street. “I was a state champion cheerleader for four years in California and a gymnast; I was a really good kid.”

Coxx said she started dancing for awhile in Sacramento. “A guy named Roy Garcia is an agent. He found my girlfriend and I. He said you want to come to L.A. and make $4,000 fucking each other? We said alright and two hours later we were here.”

Swami wondered what happened to the girlfriend and if she fell to the wayside. Coxx said she and her girlfriend had a really bad experience with Garcia. “She was kind of traumatized and went home that day. But I needed some money, so I stayed. I moved there a week later.”

Asked why she went with L.A. Direct Models, Coxx concedes that there are so many agencies.

“I was with World Modeling when I first started and they’re really a great company,” she states. “But they have so many girls. If you’re new then it’s cool. But after a couple of months they focus on the new girls. So I quit that and I went on my own for awhile. And that was when Ben English was starting his company. He’s a really great businessman so I decided to come here. He does our schedule. You don’t have to talk to any of the directors. He does everything for us and makes it really simple. That’s kind of what I need,” she laughs.

Swami asked Coxx why she changed her named from Honey. Coxx thought she was going to be in the business for no more than a month. “Honey was my dancing name,” she said. But 150 movies later, Coxx thought that Honey was not a porn star name. “And I wanted a last name. I like the name Kody and I like cocks and I decided to put the two together to make a porno name.”

Coxx addressed the typical what does your family think question. Coxx agreed that most parents wouldn’t exactly do a tap dance when you tell them about your porn career. “My mom didn’t disapprove of it but, she was, be safe. After a couple of years doing it she saw all the places I got to go and all the opportunities and that I was being a good girl. She totally accepted it. She was totally fine with it. My dad, on the other hand, just found out last weekend.” As if it should comes as a surprise, they’re not talking right now.

Coxx said he found a notebook which she had some porn notations describing scenes. “Boy-girl with an A. He kind of figured out what it means. He asked me about it. I denied it.” Coxx said she isn’t really close with her parents. “They’re really old fashioned and think a girl should be married and pregnant by 19.” Coxx said she is a free spirit and needs to experience things.

Coxx hasn’t come up with a domain name but is hoping to nail kodycoxx.com. “Hopefully, something like that.” Website in hand or not, Coxx said she’s shooting content for it and intends to have a webcam in her house one night a week. In a strange admission, Coxx said she doesn’t want to be a huge porn star, and, thus, embraces the gonzo genre. “I love gonzos. They’re really fun and they’re really easy. They’re rough but it’s kind of fun like that. I’m not into the whole passionate thing. I like the rough, dirty stuff. I stick to that.”

Coxx indicated that she would return to feature dancing, but that’s further down the road. “I’ll do it when I get tired of work and want to do something else and want to travel,” she told the Swami. “But I want to do it right and put a lot of time and effort into it.” Coxx says she wants at least 500 movies under her belt before she considers it again.Coxx will be going on her third year in the business, July 15th. “I figure I’ll do it for another year then go feature dancing,” she says.

Coxx was asked her thoughts on the recent HIV crisis. She said the industry was doing a pretty good job. “I’m sure they’re working on stuff even better; but it makes you a little more aware. You work with the people you know and don’t do bad things it wasn’t that big of a threat to me. It’s something that’s going to happen. AIDS comes to NBA players and everyone. It happened in porn.”
