She’s going to be breaking rocks in the hot sun. She fought the law and the law won.
Leesville, La. — www.leesvilledailyleader.com – Kendra Hoffpauir has been sentenced on two counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile and one count of carnal knowledge of a juvenile.
Hoffpauir plead guilty to the crimes and was sentenced by 30th Judicial Court Judge Jim Mitchell on Sept. 1 to seven years of hard labor with the Department of Corrections, and fined $1,000 and cost of court on each of the three charges, which are to run concurrently.
Four years of the sentence is suspended, with four years supervised probation upon release.
Hoffpauir was originally arrested on Jan. 16, 2009 after the parents of a 15-year-old juvenile reported to Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives that Hoffpauir had been inappropriately involved with the juvenile. She was charged with felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
Hoffpauir was a paraprofessional at Vernon Middle School at the time of the arrest. She was re-arrested later that same month after more allegations surfaced from the parents of other male juvenile students, some stemming from Hoffpauir’s time at Leesville Junior High School, where she worked before being transferred to Vernon Middle School.
Ultimately Hoffpauir was charged with four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, three counts of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile, one count of indecent behavior with a juvenile and one count of oral sexual battery.
