Check out some of the events at the Home Entertainment Show in Las Vegas, NV, July 14th through July 16th , 2004.: Home Entertainment Award Nominations Announced By the Video Software Dealers Association “The Adventures Of Indiana Jones” Box Set and “The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers” Lead the Way with Multiple Nominations The Adventures Of Indiana Jones box set and The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers tied to lead the field by earning four Home Entertainment Award nominations apiece, Bo Andersen, President of the Video Software Dealers Association (VSDA), announced today. Other titles leading the list of nominations, with three nominations each, are the Finding Nemo, T2 – Extreme DVD, the direct-to-video release Barbie Of Swan Lake, and the videogame Tony Hawk’s Underground. The annual Home Entertainment Awards, presented by VSDA, recognize outstanding achievement in home video. “More people view movies on DVD and VHS than in the theaters, on pay-per-view cable and satellite television, and on video-on-demand. These awards recognize excellence in entertainment the way most people enjoy it – on home video,” said Andersen.
Blake Edwards To Be Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award from Video Industry Award Will Be Presented by VSDA at July Confab
Filmmaker Blake Edwards will receive the Video Software Dealers Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award at VSDA’s Home Entertainment 2004. Mr. Edwards will be presented with the award during the Opening Business Session and Awards Ceremonies of the annual industry event on July 14, 2004 at the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino in Las Vegas. The announcement was made today by Bo Andersen, President of VSDA. “We are extraordinarily honored to present our Lifetime Achievement Award to Mr. Edwards,” said VSDA president Bo Andersen. “His incredible film career has made an enormous contribution to the home video industry. The luncheon, which will be held on Wednesday, July 14 from noon-1:00 pm will kick off the first of many seminars throughout the convention.
