Porn History 101: Charlie and Another Porn Chick, Charlise L’Amour

As long as there’s a Charlie Sheen, there’ll always be Charlie Sheen stories involving female porn performers. Knowing that Sheen’s antics are reoccurring ones, I like to trot this story out from time to time:

The incident occurred in July, 1999 involving Sheen, Charlise L’Amour, Teri Starr and Sheen’s 400 pound bodyguard Curtis “Zippy” Hunt.

Apparently L’Amour and Starr showed up at Sheen’s Malibu home on July 26, 1999 and were attacked by Hunt. Notwithstanding, both women claimed that they had an “intimate” friendship with Sheen. L’Amour, in court documents, described how Sheen invited the girls over to his house that evening. But when they got there, the front gate was locked.

L’Amour claims she hopped the fence, as she’d done before “at Sheen’s suggestion,” and rang the bell. Hunt supposedly answered, and, according to court papers, “immediately punched her in the face with great force, breaking her nose and cheekbone.”

L’Amour says Hunt in playing Lord of the Dance with her kisser, yelled, “Charlie does not want to fucking see you! Get the fuck out of here!”

Starr supposedly climbed the fence to rescue her bloodied friend. Hunt, then, in a WWE move, was to have lifted L’Amour off the ground by her hair, body slammed and “viciously” kicked her, the suit later claimed.

The cab they were riding sped the girls to a nearby police station. They apparently filed a report but refused to file a criminal complaint against Sheen “out of loyalty for their longtime and intimate relationship.”

The day after, L’Amour claimed that Hunt called at Sheen’s insistence and threatened to kill her.

Sheen’s lawyer subsequently labeled the suit “frivolous” and said it was filed in revenge after Sheen had taken out a restraining order against the duo.

The women, in turn claimed they’d been unable to do any dancing since the beatings and were asking for more $50,000 in civil damages.

Ironically, it was about this time that Sheen and his brother Emilio Estevez were slated to play porn psychopaths Jim and Artie Mitchell in Showtime’s “Rated X,” the Estevez-directed saga of the Mitchell Brothers.

Displaying a welter of cuts and bruises on their bodies, both L’Amour and Starr were subsequently trotted out and interviewed on the TV tabloid show Extra.

“He [Zippy] said we’re both lucky we didn’t have bullets in our head, L’Amour told Extra. Extra then played a taped statement made by the taxi driver.

“She started to come outside but he was still pushing and punched her,” the cab driver, who was at the scene, testified.

L’Amour admitted to Extra that she was drunk. However, in an interview with me, L’Amour claimed that she went to Sheen for help to keep sober. L’Amour admitted that she did have a drinking problem in the past.

An Extra reporter, too, asked L’Amour why she didn’t press charges against Sheen when she filed the police report.

“They didn’t want to arrest Zippy…they wanted to arrest Charlie,” L’Amour answered.

It was only later that, L’Amour and Starr filed a lawsuit naming both Sheen and Hunt as defendants. The lawsuit also filed a complaint for battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligence. L’Amour and Starr said they filed as “a way of winning back some respect.”

“I was a completely innocent victim,” Starr insisted in her Extra interview.

Extra also reported that Sheen was on probation after pleading no contest to slamming ex-girlfriend Brittany Ashland’s head into the floor during a drug-fueled frenzy.

A Los Angeles Channel 9 news report later interviewed Jeffrey Huron, attorney for L’Amour and Starr.

“They went up to the gate and rang the bell,” Huron concurred. “Nobody answered. She [L’Amour] went over the fence, she had been told by Charlie that she had permission to do that..she rang the doorbell at the front door. Zippy answered the door, punched her in the face; she fell down. He started kicking her, punching her..she tried to get up.”

Huron claimed the taxi driver, who had also been punched, planned to file his own lawsuit. I don’t know what happened with that one.

In his statement, Zippy Hunt said he found L’Amour “hiding in the bushes”.

Hunt said when he asked Charlise to leave she “became wildly belligerent and violent, attempted to force her way past him, and demanded to see Sheen. She refused to leave.”

Hunt, in his defense, claimed that Starr tried to hit him, and that he escorted both women down the driveway towards the gate.

Sheen denied any wrongdoing and his attorney, Zia Modabber, stated that L’Amour and Starr had filed a frivolous lawsuit.

Adding to this intriguing mess of vague recollections and porno drama was the fact that L’Amour claimed that Starr’s father had been a general in the Air Force and used to bodyguard for Sheen.

The lawsuit against Sheen was eventually settled in Los Angeles Superior Court in January 2000 for an undisclosed amount.
