Joel Waddel of the Orange County Equality Project says encouraging this practice is like encouraging murder.

“This is an easy way to get Aids and other sexually transmitted diseases. Craigslist does include a warning about sexually transmitted diseases, but some people just don’t care.”

J.F (a former Craigslist poster who doesn’t want his full name revealed) admits to this column that even though he was diagnosed with HIV two years ago, he constantly posted ads looking for unsafe sex.

“At the time, I was so pissed and felt the need to infect other people with HIV,” he says. “Please be careful. A lot of newly infected men with HIV do this.”
