Washington – from www.seattlepi.com – EastLake Community Church in Bothell is preparing to host one X-rated superstar and a controversial debate about pornography.

KIRO radio reports the church is sponsoring an event called XXX Debate — and that’s just what it sounds like.

Intent on “pulling America’s dirty little secret out from under the mattress,” the debate is essentially a conversation about porn between pastor Craig Gross and porn star Ron Jeremy.

Gross is the man behind Nevada-based XXX Church. He’s also responsible for “National Porn Sunday,” a campaign launched in conjunction with the Superbowl to get churches talking about porn.

About 350 churches across the country dedicated sermons to talking about the pitfalls of porn Sunday, and Gross released a video featuring testimonials by football players such as the Seahawk’s Matt Hasselbeck.

“I can speak to some things first hand that I’ve been going through,” Hasselbeck says. “So many marriages of our friends that are ending up in divorce, you look back to the pattern. You see this disconnect where a husband and wife aren’t being transparent about things and husbands have secrets.”

He added that he hasn’t struggled with pornography addiction.
