An upcoming debate on porn – between adult film stud Jeremy and an Eastlake Community Church pastor – has already sold 1,500 tickets and will likely sell out, the Bothell church said Thursday.

The event, called “XXX Debate,” is a really discussion on porn addiction. From the event’s site:

Pornography is a multi-billion dollar industry in the United States alone, but serious discussion of the issue is rare. Is it degrading to women, or empowering? Is it addictive and destructive habit, or a window to a fun fantasy world?

“The American church doesn’t need the ‘sex talk’ it needs “the porn talk,”’ Eastlake pastor Craig Gross said on KIRO radio. Gross will be debating Jeremy.

“We have to respond to this devastating problem. We are sick of watching people lose everything to porn.”

Hundreds of people have also RSVP’d for the church’s Porn and Pastries event for women, and a Porn in the Morn discussion for men this weekend.

Jeremy and Gross will be doing their thing this Saturday at 7 p.m. at the church at 3301 Monte Villa Parkway in Bothell. Tickets are $5; free for students and military personnel.
