Why is MTV trying to erase a Real World cast member Dustin Zito’s Gay porn past?

At www.adultcybermart.com you can keep your gay porn past a secret as long as you bribe us.

from www.gaysocialites.com – MTV’s The Real World: Las Vegas premiered March 9th as the 25th season of the series with 24-year-old Dustin Zito, a (reportedly) gay-for-pay performer who appeared as Spencer on Fratmen.TV and its sister site FratPad (a site that features straight men living together in a house, where they are often naked and sometimes have sex with each other) in the cast.

While MTV’s initial bio for Dustin did not mention his porn past at all it seemed like MTV tried to use this at their advantage given that Zito’s skin-biz experience was mentioned up front in the show’s advance materials. Dustin’s bio on the MTV site vaguely referenced his porn past: “With no real idea of what to do after high school, Dustin accepted an opportunity in Los Angeles to be a cast member on a web site that featured an uncensored look at a house of attractive guys living together.”

Of course Spencer’s online life wasn’t quite as innocent as that sounds. The Rayne, La., native is outed in the show’s trailer by an amorous girl who asks Zito if there’s anything he hasn’t told her and then announces, “You got taped having sex. It’s all over the Internet.” wrote The Advocate. That same scene came up in the first half-hour of the first episode, as the cast played “never have I ever” and Dustin admitted having sex in a hot tub, having a three way, and kissing someone of the same sex.

His “confessional” showed him saying “Oh god, I’m going to have a tough time talking about my past.” We then saw his casting interview, in which he said, “High school was over and I was like, all of the people were going to college, I don’t know what I wanted to do, so I did a webcam thing.” The producers then showed censored video from FratPad. Dustin insisted, “none of the models are gay; it was a job for me, that’s strictly a job.” And he added, “For me, it’s such a big deal for me to be judged; I’m scared at this point to open up.”

Here’s a video of Spencer discussing his apprehension about revealing his past to his roommates:

The first news on the issue were broken in November in the forum Vevmo and picked up immediately by DudeTube (NSFW) noting Spencer was a part of the FratPad from the very beginning and has been a presence in the house for the last four years. One of the forum members stated that Bunim/Murray Productions, producers of the show “knew about [Zito’s porn] past” and that “before the show airs the site he’s on is supposed to delete most of the content with him.”

As Gay Porn Times reported Mr. Zito’s erotic career is certainly too extensively chronicled to scrub from the internet. Given the web of social networking that engulfs us all, it would be ridiculous for producers to claim to be unaware or caught off-guard by a castmate with a four-year porn career. Moreover, the Wikipedia page for the show notes Zito “has worked as an actor in the porn industry” based on the Vevmo report, so producers certainly know of his history now if they didn’t before.

Fratpad describes itself as “a cam house like no other” that features “naked college Fratmen and straight frat boys in sizzling hot chat and web cam shows,” so it’s basically like The Real World, therefore Dustin should do quite well on MTV, especially since he’s also very fond of hearing himself talk, as his YouTube channel proves.

Last week, on the day of the season’s debut the story appeared again all over the blogosphere, with plenty of links to posts that included naked pictures of Dustin/Spencer as well as videos and screen-shots of his performances, all of which were available earlier this week. However The Sword reports that “The Spencer/Travis oral scene has been pulled from the Fratmen site, and Spencer’s live gay sex shows aren’t available on sister site Fratpad,” while at the same time, “multiple gay porn bloggers have been asked to remove promotional images of Dustin Zito/’Spencer’ engaged in gay sex,” and “Fratmen has sent specific requests to highly-trafficked gay porn blogs and forums, including JustUsBoys and WayBig, to remove Spencer’s gay sex images.”

The site notes that “Fratmen is deliberately removing the scenes and attempting to scrub the internet of the content that’s responsible for the most publicity and national exposure they’ve ever had” and speculates about why that might be the case.

Andy Dehnart from Reality Blured was one of those contacted by Fratmen, asking him to remove links to other pages that featured such images. Following his negative he received the this reply “Maybe the purported video never was on the site; maybe the primary producer had been forced to remove the video because one of the performers was under 18 years old on the date of production… Maybe a pack of wild dogs broke into the Fratmen data center and destroyed the content with their magnetic teeth.” Unfortunately for them Queer Me Now has evidence of the opposite!

The question here is why is it so important for MTV to erase Dustin’s gay porn past? Especially after this isn’t the first time reality Tv and porn meet (v.gr. Steven Daigle), nor that a person with a notorious porn past appears on reality TV (v.gr. Jean Val Jean).

Would MTV be acting otherwise if “GAY” were out of the equation? Considering that current cast member of MTV’s The Challenge: Cutthroat, Dunbar Flinn, from The Real World: Sydney had onscreen sex (with women) for Playboy TV, and no such requests happened, having all his scenes up on the Playboy site (NSFW) something makes me thing the answer is a sad yes.
