from www.content.usatoday.com – Police in Gainesville, Fla., arrested Oakland Raiders WR Louis Murphy on Sunday and alleged a series of violations stemming from a traffic stop.

Among the allegations, police said Murphy was carrying a bottle of Viagra that he did not have a prescription for. They charged him with drug possession without a valid prescription, failure to obey a police officer and resisting arrest.

Police attempted to pull Murphy’s SUV over after they said he was spotted blaring music from it. Police said Murphy wouldn’t pull over when flagged by police and that he resisted arrest when they tried to detain him. They said it took three officers to corral the 6-2, 200-pound Murphy into custody.

Murphy played college football at the University of Florida in Gainesville.

Gainesville police officer Thomas Harrison told the Gainesville Sun that Murphy agreed to allow police to search his vehicle. When they found the bottle of Viagra, with 11 pills inside, Harrison told the paper that Murphy claimed he had torn the label off the bottle “because he did not want his girlfriend to know he had a prescription for it.”

Murphy is the third Raiders player arrested since the end of the 2010 season. RB Michael Bush was arrested for alleged drunken driving in Indiana on Feb. 12 and OT Mario Henderson was arrested for allegedly carrying a concealed firearm in Florida on March 17.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said last month he intends to hold players accountable under the league’s personal-conduct policy for offenses committed during the league-imposed lockout.
