Dallas- from www.dallasnews.com – A northwest Dallas swingers’ club is operating under the guise of a religious institution, according to a lawsuit filed Monday by the city.

The club, The Playground, is owned by the same man being sued for running a dance hall targeting young people that he also claims is a religious institution.

The Playground, in the 11300 block of Harry Hines Boulevard, has a certificate of occupancy for a church, mosque or synagogue. But an undercover Dallas police investigation revealed it is “a business that caters to adults, often couples, who wish to engage in random consensual sexual activities on-site with other adults other than their spouses,” the lawsuit said.

City attorneys want the business shut down because it is illegally operating as an unlicensed sexually oriented business, the lawsuit said.

Owner Wyakie Glenn Hudson and his attorney could not be reached for comment.

Last week, the city filed a separate lawsuit against Hudson in connection with a club he owns known as the Darkside in the 3000 block of West Northwest Highway. Hudson says he is an ordained minister and that that club is a place of worship.

An undercover investigation in that case showed it’s an all-night dance club for ages 17 and up, with sex and drugs on the premises. Club manager Tommy Eppelsheimer [pictured] was arrested last week and charged with felonies indecency with a child and sexual performance of a child.

At The Playground, undercover Dallas police officers saw topless dancers and pornographic videos on large flat-screen televisions. A VIP area, which costs extra, offers beds, condoms and more porn, the lawsuit said.

A website for the business advertises occasional themed nights at The Playground, none of which involve religion, the lawsuit said.

“One recent Playground advertisement promoted a special attire night titled, ‘Anything But Clothes,’ and another announced a guest appearance by a celebrity of the pornography industry named ‘Mr. Marcus,’” according to the lawsuit.

Online advertisements for the club visible on Monday advertised stripper poles, cages, sex swings and showers. Photos showed leather couches and pool tables.
