VENICE, CA – As Jacky Joy did one of her seven weekly scheduled camshows on Tuesday night, word came down that she had been named Best Adult Cammer in the 1st annual Blue Screw Review Awards. And that’s not all: She was also named the Breakout Star, and her scene with Sean Michaels in Captain America XXX: An Extreme Comixxx Parody (Exquisite) was named Best Scene of 2011.
“No one kicked her career into gear in 2011 more than Jacky Joy,” Blue Screw Review writer and awards voter Thomas Newton said in an email Tuesday.
“If you look at interviews from even a couple months ago they were saying she was a newbie, even though she’s been around five years. Now as we close out the year, she’s everywhere, everyone knows who she is and it’s really a testament to getting some key roles and taking advantage of them, doing great scenes and her contact with fans through Twitter and camming. She also hired you guys at Rising Star PR to make sure people took note of what she was doing, and we did.”
While almost everyone in the adult industry lives in Porn Valley, she has turned living in Philly into an advantage. She’s become the go-to star for events in the Northeast, including hosting the Pumpsmag holiday party in New York City on Monday night.
She also worked again with Smutlife over the weekend as they shot a music video for the thrash-metal band NoN-StoP! in Trenton, NJ. For their song “Crunkenstein” they put together “an homage to the band’s loyal following of hardcore punk wasteoidz,” Smutlife’s John Flanigan said. “It’s essentially a house party performance saturated with vignettes of filthy fun, booze, broads and sorcery.” Jacky appeared as the love interest of the mystical friend.
Last month she was in the top two movies on AVN’s charts and has been nominated for Unsung Starlet at the 2012 AVN Awards.
