from www.news-record.com – An Eden teacher was charged Wednesday with having sexual activity with a student after police received a tip that she had inappropriate contact with a boy.

The Eden Police Department said they received the tip about Whitney Dow Buck, a 38-year-old Morehead High School teacher, on Tuesday.

Two detectives immediately contacted school administrators and told them about the information and their investigation. As a result of the investigation, detectives Ben Curtis and Clint Simpson secured a warrant for arrest on the teacher on Wednesday.

Buck, of 640 Rob Tom Road, was arrested without incident at the Eden Police Department. She was placed in jail under a $15,000 secured bond and ordered to appear in court on Feb. 8.

Police are still investigating the case.
