UNION TWP. — from www.cincinnati.com – Déjà Vu, an adult entertainment club that closed down Dec. 31, was slapped with fines in court Monday afternoon. A judge ordered the former Union Township adult club to pay $2,500 in fines and more than $4,000 to the Union Township police in restitution, Clermont County Prosecutor Don White said in a press release.
The fines follow an undercover police investigation that found Déjà Vu in violation of Ohio’s Sexually Oriented Business Law. Police raided Déjà Vu in June 2010 after they completed an investigation that took place from April to June 2010. During the investigation, Police found club dancers engaging in sexual acts with one another and inappropriately touching patrons. Each of the 10 charges Déjà Vu faced in court Monday carries a maximum fine of $5,000.
The club was convicted on 10 counts of illegally operating a sexually oriented business. As part of a plea bargain, charges against the managers and dancers involved in the criminal activities were dropped. An agreement reached with the court also states that Déjà Vu will not be allowed to use the property for sexually oriented business in the future.
