Call it a debate. Kayden Kross argued against condoms and prosecuting attorney Wendy Murphy, who took the opposite view, told Kross her parents should listen to some of the things that were coming out of her mouth.
If that’s not talking down to someone I don’t know. Kross and Murphy squared off in front of a live audience of mostly young guys who applauded everything Kross had to say. John Stossel, who moderated, said members of the LA City Council were invited to attend by declined.
“Politicians are trying to protect you,” said Stossel, addressing Kross.
“We don’t feel we need the protection,” answered Kross.
“We didn’t feel there was a problem. A third party stepped in and created a crisis that wasn’t there.”
Stossel thought that porn stars would be more likely to have a disease. Kross said porn stars test every 20 to 30 days.
“Studios will not shoot us without a valid test.”
According to Murphy an industry “insider” who was in charge of all testing told government officials that STDs are rampant in the business.
“This is not that complicated. Women have a right to be protected. They should not be exposed to a risk of dying.”
“This isn’t about you, added Murphy addressing Kross.
“This is about all the women in the industry.”
“This is my body,” Kross replied.
“I can put it in whatever situation I want to put it in.”
“Where are your parents?” asked Murphy.
“Your parents should be hear listening to this clap.”
“Just because people would like to put asbestos in their home, they can’t,” continued Murphy.
“Why? Because they’re going to get sick or die. And the government which is supposed to protect us with health standards says you can’t do it even if you want to. This isn’t about your freedom. It is about the well being of HUMANS!!!! And that’s the purpose of government, to protect human beings from serious health risks and death. Do any of you care about that?”
[There is where Kross should have stepped in and asked Murphy why the government doesn’t outlaw cigarettes.]
