Porn Valley- A judge ordered the man who claimed he slept with Gov. James McGreevey’s alleged lover to get his head examined. Dr. David Miller, who told reporters he had an affair with the man accusing McGreevey of sexual harassment, was arraigned yesterday on felony charges that he impersonated federal agents and phoned in threats that Al Qaeda thugs were going to blow up county buildings.
“The charges, if true, clearly indicate an aberrant behavior,” Judge Donald Volkert said after ordering Miller to get a psychiatric evaluation and be held on $500,000 bail.
The Livingston doctor parachuted into the middle of the McGreevey sex scandal this week by alleging he had a torrid affair with Golan Cipel, the aide who claims he was the target of McGreevey’s unwanted sexual advances.
Miller’s own credibility crumbled when he told reporters that he was a CIA operative who swallowed pills to darken his skin and warned photographers that a gun he kept in his house wasn’t for show.
Acting Essex County prosecutor Paula Dow said the probe had nothing to do with Miller’s allegations against Cipel, or his recent notoriety.
Miller had been under investigation since Aug. 12 and the doctor’s tales of sexual exploits, CIA ties and Al Qaeda contacts had “zero” credibility, Essex County Sheriff Armando Fontoura said.
Investigators interviewed Miller at his home Aug. 16 and said he made a series of “bizarre statements” about how a tenant of his had ties to Al Qaeda and was plotting to blow up the Essex County Courthouse, said deputy chief assistant prosecutor Judy Gagliano.
Miller also told stunned investigators that he used one of his satellite dishes to contact his handlers at the CIA, she said.
Officers arrested Miller and searched his Shrewsbury Drive home at midnight Thursday. No weapons were found.
