This must be one of those friendly-to-porn states Diane Duke’s been in touch with.
Arizona- from www.phoenixnewtimes.com – Many Republican candidates for state and federal office would like you to believe that they want people to go to prison for selling porn, and think tipping strippers should be illegal.
The lobbyists at the Center for Arizona Policy released the candidates’ answers to their questionnaires for this year’s elections, which is not only a good indication of the CAP morality cops’ agenda, but also of how much CAP ass-kissing the Republicans are willing to do.
Every state candidate was asked by CAP whether they support or oppose “[p]rohibiting touching or tipping dancers and fully nude performances in sexually oriented businesses,” and more than 80 state-level candidates actually responded to that.
Not only did they respond, most of them said they support that.
A grand total of two legislators who turned in their questionnaires (Representatives Russ Jones and Chester Crandell) said they opposed it. Three legislators — Senator Frank Antenori, and Representatives Michelle Ugenti and David Gowan — didn’t answer the question.
On the federal side, those candidates were asked whether they supported “[e]nforcing federal laws vigorously against obscene hardcore pornography.”
Every single major Republican candidate for Congress said they supported that. Among other things, that would include up to five years in prison for sending a dirty DVD in the mail — 10 for second offenders.
