from www.lvrj.com – The murder trial for a former Las Vegas Strip performer was delayed again after some legal wrangling over discovery issues in the case.

Jason “Blu” Griffith, 33, faces one count of murder for the death of “Fantasy” dancer Debora Flores Narvaez, 31. The trial was set to begin Monday before District Judge Kathleen Delaney.

The lawyers are expected to set a firm date for a trial at an Aug. 22 hearing.

Griffith, who performed for a Cirque du Soleil show, is accused of strangling his former girlfriend, dismembering her body and hiding it in cement-filled tubs in a downtown home in December 2010.

Authorities said Flores Narvaez went to Griffith’s North Las Vegas home on Dec. 12 to watch television. She was reported missing the next day.

The couple had a volatile history, including at least three incidents in which authorities responded to calls of domestic violence between the couple, including one on Oct. 22 that resulted in Griffith’s arrest.

Griffith’s lawyers have suggested that Flores Narvaez was a stalker who had criminal history of harassing ex-boyfriend.
