THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Out of sight is certainly not out of mind.
When Shannon Marie Codner (www.katwoman.com), the Web’s Katwoman and Hollywood’s new “Queen of Tease,” recently appeared during a taping of Pamela Peaks in the Kitchen, the popular public access cable TV cooking show, she caught the eye of veteran journalist Gene Ross.
Ross, writing in Adult FYI.com about Katwoman’s topless debut on the Peaks’ cooking show, called Codner “a cutie… (who) has areolas the size of DVDs.” And that, in a nutshell, is how a new special day was born. So circle the date on your calendars: September 20 is now Areola Appreciation Day.
“What Gene wrote inspired me to call for a fun and maybe daring way to mark the end of summer,” Codner said. “Think about it. We can show just about everything breast-related in public – except areola. We keep them under wraps, but they’re clearly the focus of our sensuality and sexiness – that’s exactly why society shuns them!”
Dave Pounder (www.davepounder.com), the adult film star-turned-director and producer – and another cook in Pam’s kitchen during that episode – endorsed Ross’s assessment and gave Areola Appreciation Day an enthusiastic thumbs up. “What a wild and wonderful idea,” Pounder said. “Shannon is one of the hottest new faces on the scene, and Gene got it so right! But I can really get behind this as a kick-ass way for women to feel good about themselves and shed a little light on their sexy secrets.”
