from www.mediapost.com – ICM Registry, which operates the .XXX top-level domain, today announced selling “Mobile.XXX” to Germany-based SexGoesMobile (SGM) for $160,000.
The companies said it would be the first site “dedicated to providing the first all encompassing, .XXX destination for mobile devices” including live cameras, video and dating in 10 languages, among other adult-oriented material.
Of the last five million visits to ICM Search.xxx site (the self-described “search engine for porn”), 18% were from mobile devices and “mobile” is proving to be an increasingly popular search term, the company noted.
“The growth in consuming online adult entertainment from mobile devices has been extraordinary, and this project to develop an exceptional domain will allow us to create a site that will capture the ever increasing opportunities in the .XXX world,” said SGM CEO Andy Wullmer, in a statement.
Besides Mobile.XXX, SGM has acquired another 350 .XXX domains for its affiliate network of sites. The company says it provides its adult mobile offerings in Europe and across more than 70 counties overall.
