Atlantic City, NJ- In response to a fast and furious backlash from the BBW (Big Beautiful Woman) community and their admirers the EXXXOTICA Fan Choice Awards (aka The Fannys) announced it has changed the name of the BBW performer of the year award from “Hungry Hungry Hottie” to “Whole Lotta Love”.
“We received a large amount of messages and emails and have taken a step back and realized how that title could have been perceived,” said J. Handy, Executive Producer of The Fannys. “We’ve always supported the BBW industry and as soon as we started hearing negative feedback the decision to change the name was quickly made.”
“We apologize to anyone who was offended,” Continued Handy. “We take great pride in the diversity of our events and this was just a not-so-successful of an attempt at being funny.”
The Fannys are the adult industry’s first fully interactive awards event. The star-studded awards show takes place in the Grand Ballroom at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, NJ on Saturday, April 20, 2013 as part of the EXXXOTICA Expo, which runs at the casino and hotel April 19-21. Tickets for the Expo are on sale now, while a limited number of tickets for The Fan Choice Awards go on sale March 1.
