from www.denver.cbslocal.com – COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) – A former teacher at a Christian school will spend 90 days behind bars for after having sex with a student.

Terah Rawlings, 33, was a teacher at Hilltop Baptist School in Colorado Springs. Police say she had sex with a 15-year-old student several different times approximately five years ago.

According to investigators, the superintendent of the district is Rawling’s uncle and after he was notified about what had happened he never alerted police and treated the actions as if they didn’t happen. He was sentenced to probation after a plea deal was reached in his case.

Hilltop Baptist Church closed the school in 2010.

Rawlings will spend at least 10 years on sex offender intensive supervised parole as part of her sentence.
