Adam Wilcox posts on www.xxxwasteland.wordpress.com – Adult fans craving something new and different need look no further than Kayla-Jane Danger. The fetish-based brunette model began her on-camera career in erotic entertainment as part of industry veteran Joanna Angel’s Burning Angel empire and has since found tremendous success owning and operating her My Doll Parts website.

Danger has also enjoyed considerable success outside the adult world. The starlet drove her newly tricked out Mercedes C250 last month during the 2013 goldRush Rally in addition to acting as official spokesmodel for the event.

Kayla-Jane is an accomplished writer and has penned an eBook version of Zalman King’s Pleasure or Pain, which is available on Amazon here for $5.99. Danger also appeared in the film, which was one of the renowned director’s final projects before his passing in 2012.

Kayla-Jane kindly spoke with XXX Wasteland on the afternoon of June 25 to discuss Pleasure or Pain, competing in the goldRush Rally, hosting VIP4Play parties where fans can hang out with adult stars and more.

You can visit Kayla-Jane online at her website, MyDollParts.com, as well as the page’s parent site, KJD-Media.com. Follow Danger on Twitter under the handle @KJDangerDoll (which is also her Instagram username) and check out her FreeOnes page here.

Q: The first thing I’d like to ask about is the goldRush racing rally that you recently participated in. I understand you were a participant as well as the spokesmodel, is that right?

Correct!

Q: For those who may not be familiar with the goldRush Rally, can you talk about the event and your participation in it?

Sure. goldRush Rally is probably, I would say, the biggest and the best – if not the only – luxury lifestyle car rally in the country, if not the world. It’s basically people who are crazy in love with their cars and the lifestyle that surrounds them. It’s primarily luxury and exotic vehicles; we have a lot of super cars in the rally.

It’s a lot of driving – eight full days of driving across the country. This year, we had some really great stops. We had our usual: San Francisco, L.A., Vegas, and then we did Dallas, Memphis, St. Louis and Chicago. This year was definitely the best because it was my fourth year doing goldRush Rally, but it was the first year of bringing my car. I had the most fun I’ve ever had on the goldRush Rally. (Laughs)

Q: Very cool. I understand you documented the entire experience very well, Tweeting throughout your journey and taking a lot of photos.

Yes. I do my best to post as much has possible, but between the fact that I was actually driving this year and not just a co-pilot, I didn’t have as much time. So, I kind of had my co-pilot take some pictures and videos for me and I’m fully releasing the ones I wasn’t posting immediately onto the My Doll Parts members log, and they will probably eventually show up in other places.

I do know that I’m going to kind of create a little handbook for goldRush Rally participants for next year that will kind of include the real “How to Survive a Car Rally” because after all of my years of rallying, this year I finally felt that I had it under control and I was well-prepared for what was going to happen. A lot of people come in rallys and they have an idea that they can handle it. But let me tell you: Driving for like eight hours, plus partying into the wee hours and waking up and doing it again is quite difficult.

But, I don’t know what’s going to happen with all the pictures. Who knows? Maybe they’ll end up in a coffee table book with all my other madness someday. (Laughs)

Q: Yeah, they would probably be perfect for something like that. Moving on to your career in adult entertainment, can you tell us how you initially entered the industry?

Sure. When I was 18, I was dancing in some clubs in New York City and I had kind of accumulated a little group of other tattooed and pretty badass chicks. I found out that they were all part of this website that was pretty brand new and it turned out that one of the girls I had been hanging out with was the owner of the website, and that was BurningAngel.com and Joanna Angel. And of course, once I turned 18, it seemed like perfect timing for me to shed some clothes and get naked. I’ve always been an exhibitionist, so it was like the next natural step in my life (Laughs) – to get naked and enjoy it in pictures and who knows what else?

So, I started shooting for Joanna in New York City in 2004-2005, something like that, and I got to kind of watch the beginning of Burning Angel and watched her create her company and her brand. Then, when I moved to L.A., I kind of took it to the next level and helped to start another company that I’m no longer affiliated with and got to really see how the adult industry works.

Of course, because I have been in the industry since I was 18, I’ve seen it change a lot. I’ve seen its ups and downs and I’ve seen the Internet kind of take over. But it’s been fun over the years to be a part of all parts of the industry, whether it’s in front of the camera, behind the camera, working for other companies and obviously having my own company that I’ve had for seven years now – crazy. (Laughs)

But, yeah – ever since I started, I kind of never left. I just decided it was a great place to be, a great group of people in the industry at large. I won’t say everyone is a gem, but I’ve been having a great time.

Q: Very nice. You alluded to your website, MyDollParts.com. Can you talk about your website and what those who sign up for membership can expect?

Yeah. People who sign up for MyDollParts.com, I think, are those who are looking for something new and different and people who know exactly what they want, and that’s usually feet. I would definitely not say that MyDollParts.com is exclusive to foot fetishes or fans of feet. I have plenty of people who come in thinking, “I’m never going to like this site” or “How much could I possibly enjoy watching girls lick each others feet?” But, then they come out with kind of this new understanding of erotica and foreplay in general. And that’s really what I’m looking to do.

I think if you enjoy legs, if you enjoy great asses, if you enjoy just watching girls be intimate with each other, then you’ll love My Doll Parts.

It’s really just girls exploring and exploring kind of the kinkier side of foreplay and female domination and basically different power exchanges and stuff like that in a really beautiful, comfortable and happy setting. A lot of people hear the word “fetish” or associate it with our website and then think negative things or derogatory things and I think anyone who actually takes a peek inside the members section sees that this is far from that. This is about kind of the glory of both the submissive and the dominant in the situations and then also, just mutual admiration for one another’s bodies.

It’s really sexy and beautiful. I think everyone likes it.

Q: As you mentioned, you run your own company and website, but is there anything further that you wish to accomplish looking down the road?

Oh, there are so many things! But I would say I just want my company to get bigger and better. I really want to spread my message as wide as I possibly can, which seems like a daunting task sometimes because of the way that the porn industry is changing always. But, I still have faith in myself in that regard and I think that I have a lot to bring to the table to the industry and to the market for our viewers. I think there is a lot out there that they are not seeing or that they are not able to see because just nobody has done it yet, and I’d like to do that.

And then, I’m in the process of working on a few different writing projects. Ever since my last one got published, I just can’t wait to get something else out. I’ve just been juggling so many different things that it’s been hard to sit down and get a moment to myself. I actually spent a good amount of time writing last night, so I’m feeling a little better about my next project.

So, there are always things – bigger things, better things – happening for me and my company. Who knows – maybe one day I’ll have my own shoe collection and I’ll disappear onto an island somewhere and no one will ever see me again. (Laughs)

Q: In regard to your writing, can you discuss your Kindle eBook, Pleasure or Pain ?

Yeah. The book is called Zalman King’s Pleasure or Pain. It is a novel based off of a screenplay by Zalman King. I was actually in the feature film and that will be out pretty much right now. The film will be available on a lot of different VOD networks and then it will be exclusive to Cinemax for a while.

The book you can currently get on Amazon. Members who have Amazon Prime can actually rent the book or borrow the book for free and then other people can buy it for $5.99 for their Kindles or Kindle apps. And I think maybe in about 30 days or so, it will start being available on iBooks and a lot of the other eBook platforms, which is going to be cool. But, we wanted to offer it to Amazon first because I love Amazon and I have a Kindle. I read all my books on my Kindle, so I wanted to be able to have my own book. (Laughs) So, of course, I downloaded my own book onto my Kindle.

Q: As you mentioned, you also appeared in the Pleasure or Pain film. The book, it is largely based on the movie?

Yes, absolutely. I did it in conjunction with Zalman’s business partner David, who kind of gave me his blessing to bring this story to a different genre and a different place because we know that the reach of the movie will only be so far and that there are still a lot of people who aren’t comfortable enough with their sexuality or maybe with their partner or whatever it is that they wouldn’t necessarily watch the film, but that they would absolutely read the book.

It is clearly an adult-themed erotic story and it’s also a really deep story and I think a really important story about addiction. People hear Pleasure or Pain and because of my career, they think it’s going to be some kind of bondage theme or Fifty Shades kind of thing, but it’s not at all. It’s really about love addiction, sexual addiction, how far people go and where our limits really are and who’s in charge of them – if it’s us or our surroundings. It kind of deals with a lot of wonderful issues, but again, not everyone wants to see that or see “sexual encounters.” Even though they are not explicit, not everyone is comfortable watching that on screen.

I will give props to Fifty Shades for making it so that there are people who are a little more open to the things that they read and open their minds to. So, we’re hoping that everyone who won’t go see it will at least go and read it, enjoy it and learn something from it.

Q: I understand you host events called VIP4Play parties featuring adult film performers.

Yes!

Q: Can you tell us a little bit about those?

Surely. There is this wonderful company in Las Vegas called VIPnVegas run by partner in VIP4Play, Noah Auspitz. He has been a VIP host here for about ten years and when we got together, we couldn’t think of a better thing to do than bring porn stars out of the strip clubs of Las Vegas and really bring them into the party. Usually, when adult performers get asked to come out to Vegas and host something, it’s at a strip club.

But, we feel that a strip club is too obvious – you know, it’s like anyone can go to a strip club and see you. But if you really want to hang out with your favorite adult film performer and you want to get to know them and party with them – actually party with them – you can have a VIP4Play party, where basically we set you up with a table and the porn star of your choice. We have a great group of girls that do this and we’re always adding more.

And then, we also are going to start having our open parties, which are basically pre-arranged parties that we have a few girls. This is for the guys who don’t have the budgets to get their own tables with porn stars, but who still want to enjoy the porn star experience. There, it’s basically like a mixed table, so each person pays to get in on the table and there is a maximum of ten guys at the table with our 2-3 girls.

I’m at all the parties, so if you really just want to come and party with me (Laughs), then by all means, book a VIP4Play party. We’re also going to be starting some special parties that will be for VIP4Play members only and as soon as our website goes up, there will be information on how to become one of our VIPs, so that you can get access to all of our secret parties and good fun.

Q: Speaking as someone who, as you said, has a number of years’ experience in the adult industry behind them, is there one misconception about the business that you wish you could dispel?

From people outside … oh, my goodness – there are so many of them. I’ve been in the industry so long now that I try not to laugh at people when they make their silly ideas of what the industry is.

One of my biggest problems or one of the things that hurts me the most is when I hear girls who are thinking about entering the industry and the misconceptions that they have, whether it’s that all girls end up with their own website, that all girls make a ton of money, or that you have to fuck dudes to make money in this industry. Those are really terrible things.

And then the other I would say big misconception is because I take my clothes off on the Internet, that I’m automatically a whore or that I’m automatically available for anyone. I think it’s the silliest thing I’ve ever heard. Most of the porn girls I know – sorry, guys – are either married or in seriously committed relationships, not screwing around off-set.

It’s interesting to see it like … when you watch an actor in a “mainstream” film, you don’t automatically identify them with every character that they play – like, “Oh, that’s exactly who they must be outside.” So, why would that carry on to porn – that just because someone is comfortable enough with their body to share it with you, why would that mean that I’m going to share it with everyone?

Especially for me, because I get people who hate on me all the time like, “Oh, sucking dick bought you those shoes or bought you that car.” I’m like, “Well, actually no, because I don’t suck dick on camera, so I’m pretty sure that didn’t make me the money to get my car. (Laughs) But thanks for looking into my work and not having any clue what I do.” Just because I’m naked, it doesn’t mean that I’m fucking on camera – or want to fuck you. (Laughs)

Q: I like your analogy using mainstream actors and how people don’t tend to identify them with the roles they play on-screen.

Yeah. Even those who take, let’s say, a little more “adult” roles every once in a while or have appeared naked on-screen, you wouldn’t automatically jump to that conclusion with them, so why are you going to do it with me? (Laughs)

Q: Can you tell us a little bit about where you were raised and how you would describe yourself growing up?

(Laughs) I have always been a very independent person. I’m pretty sure that was on every report card growing up – “She is very independent.” “She doesn’t play well with others unless she needs them for something.” (Laughs) No. But I was very independent and always very sure of myself growing up, which is interesting because I had a lot of people hating on me. So, I was kind of primed for the adult industry by being bullied and stuff. I was a New Yorker; I toughed my way through it, I beat a few kids up and I got in trouble plenty.

But, you know, nothing extremely tragic happened to me that caused me to go into the adult industry. I’ve got great parents – they’ve been married for 32 years, they love me, they love what I do. My brother, on the other hand, probably wishes I’d taken a different career path, but he still loves me. (Laughs)

The place I grew up, it’s a terrible place, no one should ever grow up there. It’s just such a yuppie town that I never really got into. I was born in Queens and then as fast as I could, I tried to make as many friends in different states or in Manhattan and get out of my small town, where everyone knows about you – so, of course, the second I was naked on the Internet, everyone in my town knew, which is awesome, really, because some of them are still members of my websites. (Laughs) That’s really the best part.

But yeah, I would never move back there. Even when I go back there, I don’t tell anyone I’m home. I would never go to my high school reunion – I think that’s the silliest shit I’ve ever heard. I wanted to be out of there as fast as possible, so I actually graduated high school early so I could get out of there as fast as possible. (Laughs) Right after that, I was like, “So, this is when life starts!” I was never going to be one of those kids that was like, “High school were the best years of my life!”

Q: What are some of your interests and hobbies away from work?

Ooh – I have so many interesting hobbies. Except most of my hobbies end up in some way becoming part of my career. Probably my absolute favorite thing to do in the entire world, where I am the most at home, is underwater. I was a scuba instructor; I have been diving since I was 12-13 years old. It’s the one thing that I would give up everything just for that – all day and all night, all the time. I think it’s the greatest thing in the entire world and I think teaching it to people is even more wonderful because when you see their eyes open up and really light up and get it and love it, it’s the most beautiful thing in the world. I’m sure that’s how people giving birth feel or something. (Laughs) But I think scuba is the greatest activity/hobby/sport, whatever you want to call it.

I like twerking at home. I don’t do twerk videos, but I twerk at home, it’s part of my workout. It’s awesome. (Laughs) It’s my hidden hobby. I watch twerk videos and do my own dances.

Writing was a hobby, but now it’s not really a hobby. (Laughs) Now, it’s a hobby when I want it to be and under deadline when I don’t want it to be.

(Laughs) But that’s always how it goes. I still love it, I can’t complain. When I sit down to write, I’m not like, “Aww … shit.” But I’ve told a lot of other people who have interviewed me that the things that I do, I have to love them; otherwise, why would I be doing them? Which is obviously why I still make porn – because I love it. (Laughs)

Q: Is there one thing about yourself that you feel would surprise a lot of people?

There are a lot of things about me that surprise people. (Laughs) But one thing? Usually, it’s the scuba diving. Being a scuba instructor gets a lot of people. They’re like, “Bull … shit!”

This is really random: I was on a retreat – kind of a personal, “I need some space” vacation about a year-and-a-half ago and I was scuba diving, of course, because what else would I do by myself in a rainforest on an island? I’m going to go scuba diving. And I didn’t find out until I got home, but another guy on the boat happened to be a member of one of my websites and a big fan of mine. He’s from Germany.

I was going by my real name and he was like, “I could tell you didn’t want to be disturbed and it was great diving with you.” He turned out to be my dive buddy, so I had been diving with him for a few days. He waited until he got home and was like, “It was such an honor and a pleasure meeting you. I didn’t want to be awkward and ask for a picture or anything.” I was like, “Well, I appreciate it because I do like having some personal time.”

But he was like, “I had no idea that you were a scuba diver or an instructor.” I was like, “Yep – fun facts to know and tell about Kayla-Jane.” (Laughs)

Q: (Laughs) That’s a pretty cool story.

I like meeting fans in random places. It’s a good time. It’s a lot better than when I get an E-mail or Tweet or Instagram later of someone secretly taking a picture of me from across the room. They’re like, “Hey – I saw you across the room,” or like, “Hey – I saw you in the lobby of such-and-such hotel.” I’m like, “That’s creepy. (Laughs) Why didn’t you just say hi? I would have given you a hug, we could have taken a picture together.” But, no – now, I’m just going to avoid you like the Plague because you’re creepy.

Q: Are there any more current or upcoming projects in the works that you would like to put out there?

Hmm … what am I doing with myself these days? I think we covered most of them. I’m sure I’m going to think of something in like, two days, or something magical will come up. But I’m really trying to pace myself. Since I moved to Las Vegas, I’ve got a bunch of My Doll Parts updates that I need to get on and just bring my focus back to my baby. I love My Doll Parts, so I have to pay lots of attention to it.

Q: Just to finish up, is there anything else you wish to say to readers?

That they should all check out MyDollParts.com and KJD-Media.com. I just remembered something: We have started our custom video productions again. We have a new wonderful payment processing situation that CCBill has tailored specifically for us.

So, in the future, any other adult producers out there: You can thank us for creating their invoice system and being able to do this. (Laughs) But, it should be great for all of my past custom Kink Shop customers because we were without for a while and I really do like making people’s ultimate fantasies – the ones that they can’t find – come true and have the best performers doing it. And not in an amateur way because we like to make porn that people can be proud of watching. So, everyone should come and get their sexy fantasy made. (Laughs)

Q: There you go. I want to thank you for taking some time out to chat with me. It was a pleasure to talk with you and I wish you continued success with everything pertaining to your career and outside the adult world as well.

No problem! Thank you for interviewing me.
