Toronto- I had a phone chat this morning with Canadian escort Chanel Richards. Richards tells me she’s heard that Lara Roxx is “working” in Montreal. But that’s not the reason why I was talking to Richards.
Because proof that when it comes to pettiness, even multi-zillion dollar world corporations apparently aren’t beyond it. Last month we interviewed Richards https://adultfyi.com/read.aspx?ID=5812 about the fight she was waging with Chanel perfume over the Chanel name and the fact that Richards was working under the name Sexy Chanel. Willing to relinquish even the Chanel spelling derivations, Richards basically conceded points to Chanel’s attorneys every which way to Sunday except bend over for them. Now it seems that Chanel wants Richards to bend over, too.
Richards has been served with a nine-page lawsuit by Chanel with the papers having been filed in Montreal. Richards was just hit with them today, and she has sixty days to answer with Richards, from Toronto, looking for a lawyer in Montreal. Richards said someone was knocking at her door. “I thought that’s them- I didn’t answer,” Richards relates. “Ten minutes later he was still there knocking. I figured I might as well get it over with. I open the door and he has a big smile on his face. I guess he wanted to see Sexy Chanel.”
According to Richards, Chanel perfume wants her to sign over her domain name, www.sexychanel.com. “And they’re going for damages saying that I damaged their good will and name. They’re going for damages for infringement of the Chanel registered trademark, depreciation of the value of good will, They want punitive damages and they want an accounting from my escort service – my profits. And they also want to stop me from spelling Sexy Chanel any different way.” As far as damages go, Richards says Chanel wants a judge to put an amount on it. “It’s not like I’ve been selling perfume,” states Richards.
An odd thing in all of this, says Richards, is that lately she’s been contacted to make appointments with a raft of potential clients with Fortune 500 ties. She’s never had that happen before and suspects that it’s an attempt to get inside info on the extent of her business and how much she’s charging. Richards has been ignoring those inquiries. “When I say Fortune 500 guys,” says Richards, “every time I check what company they work for, big ass world wide companies! All in advertising, all in trademark. I’ve been very cautious and very suspicious of it. I’m not seeing them. Why is this? No way. I’m not that stupid.”
