Norway- The male half of a couple that raised a fuss last summer by having sex on stage at a Norwegian music festival raised more eyebrows on Tuesday. As their court trial started, Tommy Hol Ellingsen dropped his trousers to show off the body parts that got him in trouble.
The impromptu striptease took place during a break in the legal proceedings against the couple. Both Ellingsen and Leona Johansson have refused to pay a fine for their live, very public sex act last summer.
They pleaded innocent to charges they violated laws against conducting an improper act in a public place.
Once again, Ellingsen seemed to love the attention and smiled widely as he also announced that he and Johansson had both posters and T-shirts for sale. The couple has claimed all along that their sex stunt was merely aimed at drawing attention to endangered rain forests.
Three members of the band that was performing at the Quart Festival in Kristiansand when Ellingsen and Johansson suddenly bounded on stage also pleaded innocent. They claim they didn’t know anything about the sex act.
Fellow band member Ole Petter Andreassen, who has paid his fine, backed them up. He said he and entertainer Kristopher Schau planned the sex stunt without telling the other three band members about it.
“The fewer who knew about it, the bigger the chances that the stunt wouldn’t be stopped,” Andreassen testified in Kristiansand City Court.
