WWW- The Feds have the X-rated video a Chicago man used as bait to try to snag $20,000 from Yankee slugger Gary Sheffield and say they may have to show it in court when they prosecute the alleged extortionist.
The tape does not show a three-way involving Sheffield’s gorgeous gospel-singing wife, DeLeon, as has been previously reported. It is said to show only the 28-year-old beauty and bad-boy singer R. Kelly.
“It depicts ‘Individual A’ and a Chicago R&B singer engaged in sexual activity. … It’s not a three-person tape,” said Assistant U.S. Attorney Virginia Kendall, without naming the participants.
“It’s very possible the tape will be evidence in the case. It’s very possible the tape will be played to the jury,” Kendall also said. It was unclear whether the tape would be made public or played for courtroom spectators.
DeLeon’s mom, Debbie Richards, said she does not know anything about the tape but if it becomes evidence in court: “I would have to turn that over to God. I don’t have any thoughts on that.”
The video was seized during a search warrant raid of accused extortionist Derrick Mosley’s Chicago home. Mosley, 38, is being held without bail in Chicago on charges of wire fraud and extortion, which could land him in prison for 22 years.
Prosecutors allege he phoned the Sheffields’ business manager, Rufus Williams, saying he had videos of DeLeon and Kelly engaged in “very repulsive” sex behavior and asking the manager to pay $20,000 for their destruction, an FBI affidavit says.
Williams said he hopes it proves unnecessary to play the tape: “I don’t know what’s in the tape. But I don’t think anyone would want to see themselves in that light.”
This is not the first sex-tape controversy to involve Kelly. The singer currently faces child porn charges for allegedly videotaping himself having sex with an underage girl.
