Pulling a Lisa Sparxxx, actor Val Kilmer charged fans $50 a pop to pose for pictures this past weekend. [Sparxxx, on the other hand, charged fans $25 to help her celebrate her birthday.]
According to the New York Post, Vilmer was at a “cheesy” Los Angeles autograph show.
The Post: Sandwiched between Phyllis Diller and B-movie queen Sybil Danning, the former caped crusader smiled for snapshots and autographed movie stills and posters, raking in what sources estimated was between $60,000-$100,000 for two days of work.
Kilmer, who can get $10 million per movie, said he came to the Hollywood Collectors & Celebrity Show at the humble Beverly Garland’s Holiday Inn in North Hollywood to promote “Wonderland,” in which he plays porn legend John Holmes.
“They’re always calling me to do these things,” Kilmer explained. “I’ve done a few things like this before. ‘Wonderland’ is a small movie and I’m really out here to get some press for that.”
Kilmer’s intentions may have been noble, but some of his fellow celebrity signers seemed shocked by the A-list star’s presence. “I can’t believe he’s here,” squealed Erin Moran, a.k.a. Joanie Cunningham from “Happy Days.”
And while L.A. sheriff’s deputies working security were warned to be on the lookout for two of Kilmer’s female stalkers, the crowd of starstruck autograph hounds couldn’t have been better behaved…
Kilmer was far and away the star attraction, but event organizer Ray Courts said, “He shouldn’t come back for two or three years. You don’t want to get overexposed.”
