The Sports Swami posts: I have just celebrated my 26th birthday this past Monday (which makes me still young in radio years but old in adult film years… go figure) and I have heard from former guests and potential guests about rumors about me. And with Holly’s verbal assault on Mary Carey (which shocked even me at first)… I decided to send my shots to adultfyi and the adult community that fallows this.
1) Holly versus Mary; In some ways I guess we should have expected this because of who both women are and how they act. Despite what Holly does, she is the classic example of a lady and one who carefully acts and says everything in the right manner. Luke Ford wasn’t even able to twist her words around (and all of us journalists know he is a perfector at that!) and Holly has always come across as very sweet, intelligent and professional. So to her there is a bit of animosity and frustration at Mary Carey, who most people have vented their frustrations about.
I have talked to many people in the industry and most associate Mary with the words “bitch, flake, airhead, shady, and spacey”. While a lot of people felt bad about how Sean Hannity treated her (including yours truly) he had a very good point. She is a candidate for governor of California and if she appears clueless about political members as she came across, she has no business being in the industry.
Maybe I am not the best person to say anything about Mary because of my well documented problems with her. She and her agent tried to get $3,000 dollars and a limo from us when we originally tried to get her to come in studio from Maine to Boston. When we refused and all parties agreed on a telephone interview, she had to reschedule it until Saturday. The story ends with us being unable to contact Mary on that Saturday from 12-3 and having to do a patch work show.
Both Troy and Holly know of this and you can bet that this is one of the many things that Holly detests about Mary. And yet while Holly has ye to gotten that big breakthrough role and get well known in the industry, Mary is becoming more known in both mainstream and adult circuits. You can bet that I will be bringing this up when the Halston’s make their return appearance on “Body Shots and Money Shots” this month
2) As far as rumors and whispers about my show and views on the adult industry… I LOVE THE ADULT FILM STARS ON MY SHOW! I have no plans to phase the gals out, or to bash them unwanted, or to start a war… I just have my quirks and my rules.
Most of this started with the “flake list” that I posted on www.adultfyi.com and I will make one apology. I have apologized to Miss Ginger Lynn about putting her on the list because technically she didn’t flake… she called late (but on time from the miscue from all parties).
However the rest of the people on the list didn’t show up, didn’t give me a reason, and never called me back. Now the problem I have with this is that a week before their interview, I pump up their appearance and tell my audience that the said guests will be appearing. When they don’t show up or don’t call in, I look like a flaming pile of baboon dung! So if you commit to the show, I expect that you show up on time or are there by the phone at the time suggested… that is professional courtesy.
3) I freely admit that there are also favorites of the Sport Swami. And some adult film companies get better publicity from me than others. However that is also because some companies come through for me, while others don’t or screw up. For instance Jason Curious, Joey Serio of adultstarsmanagement.com, and Tina Tyler of Sin City Films have delivered me guests. They also will spend time discussing guests, who they can get for me, tidbits on guests coming on the show… and in return I promote them. The same goes for Max Hardcore as while something I don’t agree with him on professional wise, he has been gracious to get gals of his on his show.
4) I make no bones about my issues with certain people in this industry; Ron Jeremy, Bob Friedland, Mary Carey or other flakes who have gotten under my skin. And while I don’t want to have cocktails with any of these people, I would gladly accept them if they wanted to come on the show and treat them with decency. But I make fun of them and insult them because of their actions as people, not because they are porn stars.
Well I wanted to end my rantings by saying that the Swami is expanding his guest list (female bodybuilders, mainstream models, UFC Fighters) and that November is shaping up to be a wild and sexy month on Body Shots and Money Shots.
