Porn Valley- Shauna Banks handled her deadbeat and grifter situation in the best way possible- she told the world about it. Besides contacting every adult gossip site out there, Banks, who lives in Florida was also on KSEX, www.ksexradio.com Wednesday night by phone to talk about how she got Kramski’ed for $700 by a director who’s now lent his name to the practice of grifting and deadbeating porn industry people out of money- Kris Kramski.
Wankus noted that Banks had already done an interview on the www.lukeisback.com site which pre-empted some of his questions. Banks has made maybe 30 porn movies and got into the business by answering an ad for bikini models but experienced a situation where she was asked to blow someone for an audition. Banks was quick to admit that would have taken bikini modeling to the next level. Explaining that she was living in San Diego at the time Banks answered the ad which was LA-based. Banks didn’t succumb to the lure of the casting couch but still got work out of the ad. Her first porn movie was with Ed Powers and Banks says Powers was awesome and that, truthfully, she always wanted to do something like that. Banks said, at the time, the $1,000 to work with Ed Powers sounded pretty good. She figured if she did it this one time…
“It was fun to make that much money in an hour,” she said. “Ed was really sweet. It was good to be an exhibitionist.” Banks mentioned that when she was younger she was on the heavy side, but that she subsequently lost 50 pounds. It was mentioned that Banks is now engaged to Jay Steele of Steel Productions who’s known for MILF Seekers and that Banks had shot for them a number of times. “It was all good,” she said.
Asked if she’s retired and has porn out of her system, Banks said she got enough of the attention but may be considering a trip to California to shoot one more time in March. When it was noted that Banks, in her interview, said that over 50% of the directors in the industry hated women, Banks felt that her comments were taken out of context. Nevertheless, Banks said the interview didn’t make her look bad. But neither did it make her look good.
“What I meant is that 50% of the producers I would say like women, and think that they’re beautiful and very respectful,” Banks clarified. “I think the other 50% kind of look down, whatever. That’s people in general. That’s not a big deal.” Wankus said you’ll hear comments from people that porn is degrading to women. “I think porn as a general statement is not degrading to women but there are a lot of producers and directors that try to push it that way.”
Wankus noted that Banks lost touch with her father because she did porn. “Mom’s not happy with it but still supports you.” Banks said as soon as her father found out about what she did he totally flipped out. “I haven’t physically spoken with him for four years.” Banks said her father has moved back to Florida and is now opening his mind to it.
“Let’s talk about this Kramski cocksucker,” said Wankus, noting that Banks had been shopping the story out there. “He’s an asshole,” contributed co-ho Michelle Lay to the proceedings. Wankus said he booked the interview because Banks came forward on the issue and stated in her story that she contacted LFP to notify them that Kramski, an independent producer, hadn’t compensated her for a performance presumably done under LFP sanction. LFP told Banks to handle the matter with Kramski. Wankus also noted the comments made by Tim Case and Felicia Fox in connection to the Banks story that they often warned people about Kramski, particularly on their KSEX show. Wankus said he even tried getting a hold of Kramski but every number he was given was disconnected.
Banks said she has tons of correspondence related to the Kramski matter. And on those occasions when she had been able to contact Kramski she was told the check was in the mail and that Kramski had food poisoning and had been ill. [Another deadbeat practice is to solicit sympathy.]
Banks said she had been in contact with Kramski February of this year. In March she got a call from Kramski’s ex assistant who told her that he quit Kramski who, likewise, hadn’t paid him in three months and owed him $15,000. Banks was told, frankly, not to expect any money. From what she’s heard, Banks said there’s legal proceedings against Kramski who apparently hasn’t shown up for court dates.
“But my $700 is like small claims. For me to fly out to California and handle this is very difficult.” Banks also made a point to say that she’s not faulting Hustler in this situation. “I’m not trying to blame them but they knew. It’s uncool to know that there are three performers in a video [Call Girls Undercover 3] that you have, that haven’t been paid and you’re still making money off of it. That sucks.”
Wankus said he had a similar situation where he did something for an independent producer who was shooting for Playboy, and didn’t get paid. “It wasn’t Playboy’s responsibility but you know damn well they called that producer and went nuts on the phone- don’t you put us in the middle of this bullshit. We got paid right away.”
For her part, Banks is resolved to the fact that Kramski is nowhere to be found, doesn’t care and doubts that he’ll ever square up with her. Banks said she has talked to a friend who’s a lawyer and was told that signing a model release was based on compensation. “If the model release is breached, technically, I’m somewhat of an owner of that material.”
Lay asked Banks if on the model release there was anything to say LFP. Banks said she was already asked that. “Kris has his own company name.” Banks also said the scene in question was “insane”.
“We started at 6pm and we didn’t finish until 8 in the morning. We were exhausted. He shot hardcore and softcore.” Banks said with all the other drama going on, by the scene’s end, she wasn’t paying too much attention. “I just wanted to go.” Banks said she also shot for Kramski about four years ago where she did a Barely Legal video in her apartment in San Diego that included Brian Pumper. “He [Kramski] paid us in cash on the spot. He was totally pleasant to work with. He was a really nice guy.”
Consequently, Banks said she kept in touch with Kramski. “Naturally when I came back out to L.A., I worked for him. He didn’t tell me he was going to pay me by check. It wasn’t like that the first time.” But Banks said she didn’t think that Kramski was going to rip her off, either. “I did think he was a nice guy.”
Lay said the thing of it is, is, Kramski got paid for turning in the movie. “They gave him a budget and he was supposed to allocate it.” Banks said with all of this happening almost a year ago, she’s now got the nerve to talk about it. “I didn’t want to cause any problems, but it’s being promoted everywhere starring Shauna Banks.”
