from www.10tv.com – A 20-year-old faces a felony charge of drug possession after deputies said that she hid 47 balloons of heroin inside a body cavity.
Tiffany Giummo was being held at the Delaware County Jail, Sheriff Walter Davis said on Friday.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were advised of a blue Dodge Durango that was heading to Columbus to purchase heroin.

A deputy followed the vehicle, saw Giummo get out and enter another vehicle. After a brief drive around the block, investigators said that the woman walked out of the vehicle and got back into the Durango.

Sheriff’s deputies said that they followed the vehicle after seeing the driver being “overly cautious.”

“Once the driver was removed from the vehicle, he immediately told the deputy that he was a confidential informant for Huron County (Ohio) and that the passenger had 47 balloons of heroin hidden inside her person,” Davis said.

According to Davis, the deputy then asked the passenger if she was concealing drugs and she admitted that she did have heroin inside her body and would retrieve it for the deputy.

Davis warned that heroin is an extremely dangerous drug but transporting it inside the body has taken this danger to another level.

“Transporting heroin inside the body raises the risk of the drug entering the system in unknown quantities which could result in overdose or death,” Davis said.
