Adam & Eve has released findings from a recent survey on bedroom confidence, revealing that a significant portion of American adults report feeling neutral or insecure in their sexual abilities. The survey also touched upon various aspects of sexual satisfaction, including the use of adult products and attitudes towards body image.

Bedroom Confidence Levels Assessed

A survey conducted by Adam & Eve explored the confidence levels of American adults in their sexual skills. According to the results, 28% of respondents stated they are very confident, while 35% reported feeling somewhat confident. A notable 23% of participants indicated a neutral stance regarding their bedroom confidence. Insecurity was also present, with 9% of respondents feeling somewhat insecure and 5% reporting they are very insecure.

Dr. Jenni Skyler, Adam & Eve's resident sexologist, commented on the nature of sexual confidence, stating that it develops through education, communication, self-awareness, and experience. She highlighted National Sex Education Month as an opportune time to encourage ongoing learning and prioritization of sexual well-being.

The web-based survey was conducted by an independent third-party survey company and included over 2,000 American adults aged 18 and older. Adam & Eve sponsored the survey to investigate sexual preferences and practices.

Adult Product Usage and Attitudes

Another survey from Adam & Eve, referred to as the "Great American Sex Survey," revealed that 82% of American adults use sex toys. The survey indicated that the use of adult toys, whether alone or with a partner, is widely accepted and increasing. An additional 3.2% of respondents expressed an intention to use adult products in the future.

The findings also suggested a positive outlook on adult products within relationships, with nearly all respondents (94%) believing that adult products can be a component of a healthy relationship. Among the most favored adult products were toys, cited by 87% of respondents, followed by personal lubricants at 79%. Adult videos were selected by 72%, sexy lingerie by 66%, and massage oils by 64%.

Dr. Kat Scarbo, a sex and relationship expert, noted that incorporating toys into a couple's sexual activities can enhance communication and overall satisfaction. She suggested that toys and adult videos can empower individuals to explore their preferences, leading to healthier relationships.

Chad Davis, Marketing Director for Adam & Eve, observed that these results reflect a growing positive attitude toward sex and sexuality, which he found encouraging for the business. He mentioned Adam & Eve's nearly 40 years of experience and over 10 million customers who can attest to the benefits of adult toys.

Body Image and Self-Perception

In a separate survey, Adam & Eve and adameve.com asked over 1,000 adults about what they would change about their bodies if they could. For females, 38% expressed a desire to be thinner, while 22% wished for larger breasts and 15% for smaller breasts. Additionally, 4% wanted a bigger butt, and 21% stated they would not change anything, feeling they were perfect as they are.

Among males, 38% indicated a desire for a larger penis. Other reported preferences included wanting a bigger butt (16%), wanting to be thinner (15%), and wanting a smaller butt (11%). A total of 20% of males felt they were perfect as they were.

Dr. Jenni Skyler, PhD, LMFT, C-PST, and resident sexologist at Adam & Eve, expressed satisfaction that a considerable number of adults are content with their bodies. She emphasized the importance of self-acceptance and the ongoing process of personal development.
