DENVER — Police and the adult entertainment industry are both gearing up for this summer’s Democratic National Convention in Denver.
The Rocky Mountain News said Monday that everyone — from the vice squad to escorts and strip-club operators — is prepared for the after-hours onslaught expected to accompany the arrival of 35,000 people for the convention.
“We’re preparing to handle a variety of issues that may come up,” said police spokesman Sonny Jackson.
The newspaper said online ads for all manner of personal services have been on the rise in recent weeks, while bar owners are prepared to take reservations for large parties in town for the nominating convention.
Some service providers said that while a fun-filled week awaits the Democratic delegates, they would have liked it better if the Republicans were in town. They told the newspaper that in their experience, the GOP is more inclined to walk on the wild side.
